Anonymous Games
Sometimes... usually because I end up revealing who I am... I wonder what the point of anonymous games is. When we've played with someone, there are usually tells. When we have NOT played with someone, why do we need anonymity.
And sometimes I think that when I play anonymous games I might as well say who I am in globals. Stupid ellipsis and dumb proper grammar.

I hate the idea of wasting our resources on building a border wall but if they do:
-We should open the project to Mexican laborers with the promise of citizenship after it's completion. This will allow us to pay them the 7.25$ federal minimum wage.
-The project should include solar paneling along the wall on its southern face. This will off set costs with energy that can be sold to the public.
-At various points along the wall effort should made to incorporate public parks, amphitheaters, and scenic vistas. This would increase the walls value to those immediately impacted by its construction.
-At various points along the wall factories and warehouses should be constructed which connect to the wall and allow Mexicans to work in US factories, these workers would only need to be paid federal minimum wage and the only requirement for the businesses who lease the space is that they must allow ICE to control the entry and exit points of their business and must employ 50% US workers in the factory. **

**this im not too strong on, but the rest I am.

you can't solve problem by arresting and prosecuting thousands upon thousands of people who hire illegal immigrants ... and sometimes people don't even know if illegal

also - these are people who too many americans think are criminals as opposed to decent people trying to escape the horrible conditions in their homeland for a better life

@"Bladerunners
or instead of $ on the wall - help mexico fight poverty and crime --- so people don;t need to come to the US... just an idea"

Some part me can't help but feel this is 'help the state power become more effective at repressing the population and forcing through unpopular policies which enrich the few and empower the already pretty powerful'.

How about the US stops trying to extend its law enforcement beyond the border, and actually address the underlying social issues in the US which cause people to turn to drugs. How about using fair trade and allowing migration to help Mexico help itself?
Carebear (100 D)

@Hauta - Re: "Do NOT harm the job creators." That is really an absurd statement. If individuals or businesses hire workers that are not eligible to work in the US, then they are breaking the law. There is absolutely no case for them to be some sort of protected group above the law, even if you could somehow easily define that group.

This is simple free market supply and demand being manipulated by corporate America. The fact is that corporate America owns the government. Until that changes, no action will be taken to address the issue of illegal workers and unnecessary legal foreign workers. The fraud and low fees associated with H1B and similar visas, a legal mechanism for hiring foreign workers, is a prime example.

What was the effect of the great wall of China?

What is the effect of natural boundaries, like the english channel seperating the UK from the rest of europe?

The typical illegal or undocumented, whichever term you prefer, comes across the border then receives free health care, free education for their children. The criminal element that cross the border crowd or jails and prison system. In both cases the cost us tax payers at the federal and local levels is unacceptable. Build the wall.

"I challenge anyone to name a historic physical wall or barrier that still has positive feelings and implications in human culture."

-Great Wall of China
-Hadrian's Wall

Trump's Great Wall accomplishes the following things:
-Helps stop the illegal trafficking of drugs like heroin
-Helps stop human trafficking
-provides a physical barrier which when combined with a virtual barrier will help our (U.S.) border security and law enforcement agents to enforce our national security and national borders
Ogion (3882 D)
30 Apr 17 UTC
I was thinking of the Great Wall of China as well, but ND, it's pretty naive to think this wall will have any effect whatsoever on any of those things you mention.
ND (879 D)
30 Apr 17 UTC
what do we do then?
DEVOgeranium (226 D)

(+2)
@ND, It turns out that people just fly into our country as an illegal immigrant, and building a wall won't stop flights coming in from Mexico. Drug trafficking is the same deal, people can just stow the drugs away up their butt and fly across the border.
It does however provide a physical barrier, which when combined with a virtual barrier will stop all good will and sentiment from crossing the border, helping us enforce our national distrust of every other country in the world.

lol Ghug - definitely no free health care in the US that immigrants are striving to get in for

We could just legalize drugs. Problem solved. A lot cheaper too.
Ogion (3882 D)
30 Apr 17 UTC
(+2)
Well, we could address drug addiction as a public health issue with treatment programs and the like, but that would require 1) doing things intelligently based on actual scientific evidence and 2) raising taxes to pay for the more cost effective solution. Neither is ever going to happen in the US so we will forever 1) waste billions on a very expensive, destructive and ineffective prison system and 2) waste a ton of money and time on a completely ineffective wall because, well, most americans are barbaric idiots.
CommanderByron (801 D(S))

@bo- sarcasm.
Sgt242 (1143 D)
30 Apr 17 UTC
I guess you don't know how the health care works in the US. Illegals come across the border and when they need health care, they go to hospital. The hospital has to treat them knowing that the illegal is not going to pay. Then their children go to our public schools and again they don't pay. In both cases tax payer money pays for it.

Lol - a wall stopping drug traffickers. Armed border patrol doesn't stop drug trafficking - a wall sure won't do it. We'll probably be repairing it weekly (for even more $$$) for all the holes the drug traffickers keep punching in it at various spots.

We'd be more likely to stop immigration by spending the wall money on factories in Mexico employing people there - then they would not leave Mexico because they would have jobs there. Or spend the wall money on international propaganda making the US look like a horrible place to live - that would also keep people out.
Ogion (3882 D)

Actually you are on to something slypups. Don't make propaganda to make it a horrible place to work but actually make it a horrible place. That explains why these racist types vote republican. If they can make working conditions and wages as bad in the Us as they are in Mexico then brown people will stop coming. Brilliant! Now I get it finally!

@St 242 - you're correct - i'm not American and therefore not an expert on your healthcare system. Don't build a 2,500 mile long wall. Build a 2,500 mile long Wal-Mart. Mexicans come in from the south to work there, and Americans come in from the north to shop there. And vice versa. We all win!

Getting Mexico to pay for the wall
Why doesn't Trump just impound Mexican land on the other side of the Rio Grande? -- land with a value equal to what it costs to build the wall. As a bonus, the wall could be built south of the river. That would make it easier to build.

Rise in diabeties in Dwarven and Halfling communities
Recent spikes in Type 2 diabeties have led to dramatic dietary changes in many halfling and dwarven communities. The diets consisting mostly of ale, salted pork, and pipe weed have finally started to erase the accepted idea that these races were rich in longevity. Gout, Obesity, and Type 2 diabeties have all risen. Recent additions of Mountain Dew and Doritos in Dwarven Mine Snack halls may also be to blame.
