I don't recall anyone mentioning it'd be a big announcement either. There will probably be a few upcoming changes shortly that Kestas will explain to help with consistency and forum. But I think it's safe to say that dealing with the site going down, and making sure that problem is fixed is a higher priority.

Kestas won the lottery and gave 5,000 to all the forum regulars to spread the word about Diplomacy and grow the game into a major global sport. Jamie is clearly claiming he never received the email in order to get a second 5 grand, the cheeky sod :p.

You're all wrong. There is going to be a tournament to see who will become the next mod. Its going to be called Top Mod. It will involve the usual tasks - finding multis, identifying metagaming, silencing blankflag, who has the most +1s, and knowledge of the game, but also a series of physical challenges a la Double Dare where contestants will pass through a set of increasingly difficult and disgusting obstacles in order to receive immunity from the next elimination vote. Basically, kestas has realized (like some of the rest of us) that the diplomacy on this site causes endless drama, attracts troublesome high schools and complaints, and interferes in a very destructive way with the forum, so the game side of the site is being scrapped.
