A proposal:
Anyone with over 100 games completed and a 25%+ resignation rate gets their account revoked. That's simply a ludicrous amount of contempt for the other players on this site. I'd rather play against multis than someone who resigns that damn often.

Religious Threads
Open to Unleash Rant...
WhiteSammy (132 D)

Really guys, it's getting old. You banter on about the same discussion day after day after day. It's like you are trying to see who can get the most responses in a cookie cutter debate about religion, evolution, and religion v evolution.

Honestly, it wouldn't bother me to the extent it does if it was so ignorantly rampant. The sheer amount of useless repetitive threads on the same subject is just mind-numbing. Either the majority of you have Alzheimer's or you just like to repeat yourselves on a weekly basis like sociopaths.

I understand that this is diplomacy and for the most part you have to have some level of intellect and sound cognitive abilities in order to push buttons and chat to others with intent to stab while juggling the orders of 15 units and that one of the reasons you play this game is the addiction to out thinking and out playing someone on the battlefield. For the most part this weeds out the weak and feeble minded(those CoD type brats of humanity who have no taste for the fine things in life) and in my honest opinion(save a couple "choice" individuals) creates a smart, intuitive, and intelligent community that is leaps and bounds more entertaining to talk to but my God/Darwin do you fucks wallow in egoism with narcissistic tendencies.

I have said so many times before in countless threads.

Your "witch hunts" and "discussions" ALWAYS, and please let me emphasis ALWAYS GOD/DARWIN DAMMIT, come down to the fundamentals that sides of the coin are revolve around. On the Origin of Species nifty little bag of evolution and subsequently relies on the theory of the big bang and the Bible is lightly marinated in the theory of Creationism and that everything was created as is.

So will you Bible thumbing Darwin humping nitwits stop with the religious and philosophical persecution on this forum before i mute every last one of you and lose faith in the only forum i have been coming back to for the past 4.5 years of my Diplomacy career.

Also, from now on i expect you to cuss according to you stance instead of debating it. Creationists you have been given the fair use of "God Dammit" and you Evolutionist are allowed Darwin Dammit in politically correct affiliation with one's philosophical beliefs. Please note, correct punctuation and grammatical freedom may be taken in concerns of possible spelling options. i.e goddammit goddamnit darwindamnit, ect.

Have a good day.

WhiteSammy (132 D)

I counted and in the past week i have muted TWENTY-THREE threads on the topic of religion or evolution.
WhiteSammy (132 D)
22 Jun 12 UTC
WhiteLine i only ask the small favor of at least toning down the immense amounts of reposts on the same topics.
Thucydides (864 D(B))

On the contrary, WhiteSammy, I only post in discussion I find to be novel in some way. My two active religion threads are one which is an organized debate, thus different and interesting in that way, and another which is an informational thread rather than a debate.

The other ones I just ignore, because they bore me too. However I am still totally baffled by people who get so upset by having things they don't like show up in the forum. It's just some god damn text you're not interested in reading. It's not like your parents forcing you to go to church or somesuch. Also, mute button.

Am I to understand that you are actually whining about having to click a mouse TWENTY-THREE times? Because.... I sure as hell do a lot of clicking in one day. A lot more than TWENTY-THREE clicks, that's for damn sure.

FYI, I do not represent the entirety of webdip. Users have strong opinions on certain subjects, and other subjects tend to get sidetracked quite quickly. It's not a webdip phenomenon. If you want to read something different, post a new topic. Just today we've had the new thread on actors, China annexing the moon, and a few Diplomacy related threads. Nut up or shut up.
WhiteSammy (132 D)
22 Jun 12 UTC
Thucy, it is not the monotonous clicking of "Mute" that is my concern but rather the continuous resurfacing of the exact same threads every other day for the last 4.5 years i have been here.

And WhiteLine, again, it is not the overall content that is frustrating, instead it is the lack of acknowledgement that 3/4ths of the religious threads that are created in a week have already been discussed in length of up to and possibly exceeding 5 pages and they all come to the same conclusion.

That conclusion is as follows...

Creationists don't see how anyone can put money on something so "far fetched" as the big bang and Evolutionists can't possibly fathom being so "nearsighted" as to believe a book detailing the creation of something from nothing by someone who cannot physically be observed and has the emotional stability of a psychopath.

Sammy, those are the eternal questions. They're not going to go away just because you're tired of them. I would suggest using the mute key instead of getting angry.
I DEMAND CONVERSATION BE STIFLED. EVERYONE STOP TALKING BECAUSE I SAY SO.
CSteinhardt (9560 D(B))

@Mujus: It's fine to have whatever discussions you want to in the forums. What Sammy is asking, reasonably I think, is for a bit of mutual respect here. People who do not want to read these discussions need to respect that you want to have them with people in our community, and simply mute anything they don't want to read. It would be completely reasonable for you to take offense if Sammy went into every religion-related thread and kept spamming the mods to mute it, and it would show a lack of respect for the members of our community who like these debates.

Similarly, people who want to have these discussions need to respect that some members of the community have chosen to mute their discussions, and not try to get around that by spamming them with many new threads. One of the advantages of longer threads is that it makes it easy for people to find the discussions they want to participate in and mute the ones they don't. Creating new threads all of the time only has the purpose of forcing people who have opted out to mute the discussion again, and that shows a similar lack of respect.

This is a better community when we can all respect each other's views and preferences. You shouldn't try to force me to think about what you see as eternal questions any more than I should do the same and keep spamming you with threads about the questions I see as most important. Why is this unreasonable?
Yonni (136 D(S))

WS, mute the thread starters, not the threads. They're generally all created by the same people.

Lmao TWA
WhiteSammy (132 D)
22 Jun 12 UTC
TWA...I would hardly call it conversation when it is copy pasted words from previous threads.

Yonni...It's not the same person who starts the threads. Yes, there are the "regulars" but they are only temporary. Over the years it has not been one person or a couple people who insist on discussing religion, but instead new and old members inciting the regurgitation of thoughts previously discussed and concluded. No matter what the discussion is, topics of religion or evolution always result in the debate of which theory is more unbelievable. That is where the true differences lie but yet that fact eludes this community.

Mujus...You completely missed the intent of this thread. I am not telling anyone to go away while i shout to myself and cover my ears to i can't hear you. I would rather seek to bring awareness to the fruitless obsession you people have with discussing something that you have already discussed at least 200 times since i have been a member back in the phpdip days. I am not saying that religious threads are and nuisance, i'm saying that you are wasting your time trying to debate religion and its opponents. There is a huge difference between inquiring from someone who subscribes to Religion, Scientology, or Evolution why/what they believe in and trying to debate their beliefs.

Draugnar (0 DX)

@Thucy - the reason I hate all the religion threads is, even after they are muted, they are keeping much better threads from the front page of the forum. All muting does is hide them ex post facto. They still take up one of the front page slots and the one who has them muted has fewer real threads to look at without having to go back a page.

Too Rich for my Blood?
Hey. It seems like a lot of players are disinterested in playing matches where larger point values are at stake. I'm trying to understand this. Until I do, I'm curious what everyone views as an acceptable upper limit for betting? Obviously, most players would probably be okay with a 4-point buy in. But how about 24? 64? What do you feel is a comfortable betting range for an Anonymous match?

Resorting to pure chaos when the game is lost for you?
Leaving names out so it doesn't turn into a grudge battle, what do people think of simply unbalancing the game when your own position is unwinnable? This occurred in a match I played recently, and to me seems like a viable strategy, particularly in non-anonymous games. If a player has a reputation for being purely vindictive in defeat, that seems like a credible deterrent. Your thoughts?

How does the Pause Option Work.?
I'm in a game and one player has been called away unexpectedly. He has asked us to pause the game until his return. He selected Pause. As far as I can tell the clock on the game is still ticking and the FAQ is not too clear on the complete run-down.

Can one player pause the game or do a majority of players in the game have to select it as an option? I;ve issued orders in case the game does not pause for this movement phase.
