Equilibrium In World Diplomacy

Are there some statics showing how many times win each country in the World Diplomacy? It would be interesting, because I have seeing and I think some countris like China, Western Canada and Kenya have a lot of victories, but frozen antartica is the big looser.

What do you think? Do you think there are some countries with handicap?

In this game i imputed orders and yet it still made me all hold. I did not miss the turn. Please check it out mods.

Just a few things, D33.

First, did you email the mods? They do all their mod work from email requests. Email them if you didn't.

Now onto what might have happened...

1. Were you also by chance reading and asnwering messages in the game while doing your orders? If so, you may have accidently sent a message which cancels any unsubmitted orders, or changed tabs to read a different message which also cancels any unsubmitted orders. Messaging is, unfortunately, *not* AJAX enabled.

2. Are you sure you remembered to click submit when you were done and that all the orders were valid (none missing a "by land/by convoy" selection or anything)? This can also cause a problem like what you saw, although it usually only leaves the incomplete order as held.

I did hit submit and i i was sending no messages. And i had no convoys, i am germany.

But if a unit could be convoyed (even if not by you) the "by land/convoy" drop down appears. If this was missed, it could screw thing sup.

One final thought. When you click submit, make certain the checkmarks come back beofre you leave the page or change tabs or send a message. If the checkmarks aren't back yet, then the orders haven't be received and confirmed as such and may not be in the system.

These are something you can poke kestas with. We have yet to find one we can reproduce and it is hard to debug because we don't know when they are about to happen. 99% of the time it is a situation like Draug said. A roll of the mousewheel or typing a message before setting the orders is what causes a mis-fire from what you expect.

Can you just undo the turn or something. I will likely loose the game because i couldnt do those orders. or just cancel it or give me a point refund or something.

Try asking the people in the game if they're willing to cancel.

I'm guessing your connection/browser was bad in some way and the signal never really got through. Sometimes I have to refresh the page and re-enter my orders because of that.

Check your orders. Repeatedly. I used to get misorders of the "I swear i I never made those orders" all the time. But I am very careful these days. I even take screenshots on my iPad and iPhone as proof if anything goes wrong. But the system doesn't mess me up any more - and I suspect it never did.

we do not have the ability to go back a turn. It is oft requested, but we simply can't do it. We have no ability to.

We never turn back turns for any reason.

Another potential issue is if you had multiple tabs open with the site? It may have created a caching issue. As has been said, you can email Kestas, but we have never found a bug after orders have been properly submitted.

Can I get a witness? Uh I mean a sub?

I don't know how this works. But I'm going to be out of pocket for a few days and don't want to make everyone else stop the games I'm in. I'm in two games - one as France (admittedly not doing so hot) and one as Austria, doing okay.

Anyone want to sub for me? Is that allowed? Question marks?

Something is Rotten In the State of Our Kids' Education...

So, I tutored my 4th grade kid today...and I have now lost any and all faith I might have had left in public shooling. This teacher of his had all sorts of lovely "creative" ways to "teach" grammar...my favorite: spell the word BACKWARDS if you're confused! THAT'LL unconfuse the poor kid, right? The poor guy couldn't spell a single two-syllable word, and what's worse...HE THOUGHT "P" WAS A VOWEL! P! P! WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON IN OUR EDUCATION SYSTEM... >:O

Question about mod roles

Do the mods all have different roles (i.e. Are some dedicated to trnies, cheating, etc)? If so, is it possible (or would it be an improvement to) contact the specific mod you need rather than just adding to the current backlog?

Masters Tourny: Current and Future State

Something needs to happen with the Masters Tournament, be it cancellation or continuation, but without the information from TrustMe I don't see how it can be continued. So does anyone have a way to contact him?

Remember that this is a tournament, so participant or not, don't talk about the games themselves. We're only here to discuss what can be done for the whole.
