Nah man, you only came into existence yesterday, but with a full host of memories and that thread in place.

That isn't the point. Neither the 2008 thread not this one really exist, because it is all an interpretation of signals coming into our cerebral cortex. So all we know for certain is that we (or more to the point, I) exist. Everything else could be fed to us, ala the Matrix, or we (I) could be God dreaming of what it would be like to be in a world where we (I) had equals.

however I don't think of others as reflections... I think of others as people because my mind has developed so. as for you webdiplomacy philosophers, you could all be cohorts in messing with my mind.

Hey Chrisp, good to see someone else get that theory. I've tried explaining to others before how the universe could have just started a few seconds ago with everything in place exactly so and they just don't get it or accept it as a possibility.

Makes perfect sense to me. Theoretically, every moment could be a "programmed" memory and "the now" be the only thing that is real.
