Johann Wilhelm Dietrich: You really should mention the name or User ID of your old account in your new one and vice versa. People should have access to all the games you've played. Actually, since you haven't finished any games with your new account yet, a mod could replace your new account with your old account in each of these games

Yes, the improvements are amazing! I joined this site in January of 2007. Back then it was something like phpDiplomacy version 0.2 (or something close). The map colors were fully saturated and quite ugly. A worse problem though was that a lot of the rules weren't implemented properly, such as, it wasn't possible to support a convoyed attack. You could order it, but the support just didn't have any affect. So, after playing a few games, I took a more than 3-year hiatus. When I returned about a month ago, I was pleased to see that the software is now ver 1.0, passes all of the DATC criteria, and that the overall aesthetic quality has improved dramatically.

Yes, I do like the improvements. My old account twas Jon Tinsley (Ironically my name before I was forced to change it, I don't know why I didn't think of checking that). I like how we now have types of games to play instead of just classical, but I would have to say my most favourite is the ability to set players to anonymous and change the messaging ability. That gives it a much better ability to play games such as Gunboat.

Now my brother (best friend, but close enough) his account was knights dawn. We were put up under suspicion of multing. Let off by every mod but Chrispminis. He banned my account and my brother (best friend) went to play diplomacy on facebook and a different website. But let us not get into another arguement, I would rather learn how things are run now.

I came from the era of the multing-witchhunt. Where the idiots from that one grade school were the enemy. Where most people were the nicest people ever until you betrayed them. Where we invented the word 'diplome'.

Doesn't look like he's multi-ing at the moment, although the more he spins out this story the more suspicious I get - there are quite a few things that don't add up about that.

Confussion say... It is awfully suspicious that he went from "forgot password" to "banned with my friend for multi-ing" all in a thread he started accusing others of multi/meta.

I am going to ignore any comment after figlesquidge cause I can prove them all wrong with a webcam post of me and my brother (best friend) logging on. One computer each, three houses. To clear out the thing, I forgot my password now, forgot we got banned then. Don't really care though, its an internet accont, it is not like I hold a grudge against you. You can check any of my games. My brother and I never joined any games the other was in. We never logged off during a conversation so the other one could back him up. It was just me and him making accounts that seemed suspicious. So who cares. You accused us of cheating, we weren't, we got wrongfully banned, life goes on.

@Rlumly & figlesquidge: They claimed to be from a school together, I could probably get you 'their' name. It was like Guici Maine and a few others, all I know is they were more hated than the spokesman for BP.

@figlesquidge, JECE: Yes, it was me that mistakenly remembered the version number of phpDip in Jan of 2007. It was more of a blind guess since I only vaguely remembered the actual number. But my other anecdotes about the quality of the site back in Jan07 are accurate. Seriously, major improvements over the years.

I joined way back then, but I left for a while since I didn't like the adjudication bugs and I just recently happened to come back.

I have nothing to do with the original topic of the thread or the original poster. I was just trying to steer the topic toward something less inane by responding to JECE's question about whether or not the improvements have been appreciated. They (the improvements) truly are, and I can't express that enough.
