Because everyone here has either a good reputation or a really horrible one and it's difficult to play when everyone views you as one or the other.

I host a lot of anonymous games myself, mainly because of the reasons already stated here. I also like the fact that people can't go into my profile and look at my game histories and see what strategies I use most. ^_^

Gar, I'll try and join you if I ever do play a live game. Given I haven't played since early may or so I doubt I would Iceray, but we'd have to see. Moreover, I'm going away next week, so can't guarentee net access. When I'm back up at uni in Jan I'll try and get back into the playing side of things, but we'll have to see - my dev commitment should probably come first as its been sitting around for nearly a year now!

Right, been thinking about it a bit, so I'm going to do the complete opposite: gameID=16346
It's a 10 day phase length. Password is 'slow' (no prises for guessing why) and a slightly strange name (games I start tend to either be named surreally or some horrifically bad pun on figlesquidge (figurative Interpretation - fig's in there, actual meaning vaguely what happens in a gunboat). Its not much so I think you can afford to join and forget about it if I take long. I don't intend to leave phases that long, and would be grateful if anyone who joins makes use of that brilliant finalization function when they can, this just gives rather more freedom incase.

Just to add, the game is marked 'Public Press only' but it'll be a gunboat, I've just enabled that so if someone has to ask for a pause etc they can explain it ingame rather than having to move out to the forum
