I don't know if anybody else has already written about this, but I think there are some drawbacks to the way games get unpaused now.
First off, when I noticed that there was no longer an unpause button, I went searching for any mention (help, FAQ, etc.) of how to unpause a game now, and couldn't find anything. In fact, there's very little documentation around how pauses work in general.
I've figured out that a paused game will unpause once everybody finalizes. On the surface, this makes a certain amount of sense; everybody is ready to proceed, so one can assume that the game no longer needs to be paused.
Where it falls down is if the pause happens in a phase (i.e. retreat, unit-placing) where certain players don't have any orders to enter, and they are thus automatically finalized. If one of those players isn't ready to resume the game, they don't get their say in the matter like they used to.
Just something I've noticed...
