Game 12362 - Unit Build Error
I am France in game 12362 and had two builds in my last build phase, but only one unit appeared the following round. We are pausing the game until I get a response. Can you please check into the matter and see if there is a fix?

Mod please pause
I player has asked for a pause, but by the time everybody voted, a turn had gone by. Now everyone has voted again, except the player who originally requested it (because he is away). Could a mod please pause the game now? Thanks

What does "left" mean beside a name/country?
I read on the forum that you can not leave games, so what does the "left" mean beside someone's supply center count.

Multi question
Does it count as multi-accounting if, say, your sibling wants to join and you help them out? I mean, you're sort of playing as them for a while, but not really. To recap: could a sibling join and not be banned because of a suspected multi? Also, how do the mods tell if someone is multi-accounting?

"Volume is also an important factor, but more with regards to brain to body size ratio."

I thought this was only true when comparing across species, not members of said species.

"I'm a neuroscience major currently working at a neuroscience research lab. =P"

Cool. I'm a biomolecular engineering major wanting to go to Med school. :-)

Welcome to the internet. You've obviously never been here before. To get started, you can try www.google.com (copy and paste that into the box at the top). Type in something that interests you (I recommend folds in the brain) and click to your hearts content.

@sketchbag, if you are going to vent about someone stabbing someone, which is part of the game. you don't have to give reasons for stabbing, and some people in this game are little bitches, by venting here you sound like a little whiny bitch. so what is the difference then between you and this other person??

@rlumley- I agree with your last post.

Other players make their own decisions for their own reasons and that's the way the game is meant to be played. It is silly to expect other players to play the way *you* think they should play.
fortknox (2059 D)

getting back on topic:
I think that when a stabee goes on that rampage, that it's the stabber that has convinced him to do it. It's your job as the stabee's victim to get him to look at reason and convince him that you can get his home SC's back with your help.

If you can't convince him, you are playing with a newbie that can't get away from a grudge, which is not a good diplomacy player to play with.
spyman (424 D(G))

... I only just read the rest of the thread. I thought the OP wanted a discussion. Perhaps not. Okay whatever.
djbent (2572 D(S))
30 Jul 09 UTC
95% agree with fortknox. it sucks, but it's really on you to convince them of what to do instead. that's why being nice before, during, and after a stab pays off for some people - you can convince them of the wisdom and benefit to them of still working with you.

the 5% reservation is that a newbie that can't get over a grudge is not so rare, and not necessarily a player to avoid. again you gotta kill them with kindness, no? getting pissed off at them is surely not going to help. and then if you find yourself with them in another game, then you already have good footing, and have taught them something about the game.
Ursa (1617 D)
30 Jul 09 UTC
Ha DJBent, you sure kill people with kindness!
Onar (131 D)
30 Jul 09 UTC
But you forget that some people have that grudge for the fact that you stabbed them. Kind or no, that's not something that people easily forget.
fortknox (2059 D)
30 Jul 09 UTC
Heh... DJBent reminded me of a line from Good Fellas:
"For a second I thought I was dead. But, when I heard all the noise, I knew they were cops. Only cops talk that way. If they'd been wiseguys, I wouldn't have heard a thing. I would've been dead. You see, they come to kill you with smiles on their faces..."

Of the many replies that I looked over, I've deigned to read only 2 in their entirety. Kudos to fortknox and djbent for having constructive things to say. If I left anyone else out I apologize, but (at the risk of adding fuel to the fire) from what I skimmed it seems that the majority of you have nothing better to do than to go around blasting OPs, polluting forums with your inane drivel. (And yes I am aware of the irony that my original post was merely a pollution of the forum and a waste of bytes, something for which i do apologize. But we all know that 2 wrongs don't make a right. I'm further aware that this post could also be construed as another such wrong, so don't bother pointing it out. You wouldn't be clever for doing so, and nobody cares).

Executive summary:
fortknox and djbent = good
rest of you (with few exceptions) = petty, puerile, and generally douchebags
Now let's see if we can't bring the total number of replies to 100 within a 24 hour period shall we? Come on, now. We've still got about 4 1/2 hours. We can do it!

@Onar/Xapi:
Gracious stabber, and very difficult to dislike.

I can say this about MadMarx as well as djbent (which I hope doesn't blow up her ego) ;). That's what makes both of them very good (and very dangerous!) diplomacy players...

"I thought this was only true when comparing across species, not members of said species."

Yes, the brain-body size ratio is a much more significant factor interspecies than intraspecies, as is the amount of folding. I also want to go to Med School. =)

Let's keep this discussion about intelligence and brain folds. =D

Onar (131 D)

I'll bet djbent has quite the nicely folded brain... (Innuendo, ftw!)

"You are posting too frequently please slow down" Is this a new "improved" addition to the site. Are we now limiting how often a person is allowed to talk. I gotta say this seems pretty stupid to me.

any way to get rid of someone not active in a game? we have 24 hour turns and it sucks waiting for 72 hours for his hold->retreat->disband.

Rules Question.
What happens if a unit trys to attack another province, is bumped back, but is itself attacked. Is it considered to be holding, or, because it tried to attack instead of hold, is it dislodged. For example:

Austrian Army Vienna attacks Galicia and is bounced back. Italian Army Tyrolia attacks Vienna. Does the Italian attack succeed and dislodge Vienna because no explicit hold order was given?
