phpdip is open source, so that is ok, unless it doesn't credit Kestas properly.

Yep, there are quite a lot of different phpdiplomacy installations around, but this is by far the biggest (unless you count the theives over at play)

Put it under one of the public licenses that profibits "pay for play" and it would shutdown playDip.

We've been using the AGPL license since 0.8 (the first version to come out after the AGPL was released ~November '07), so now forks of phpDip have to provide the source (but playDip is based on 0.75 so it just needs to include the license, which it now does)

The PlayDip announcement is interesting but I can't help but think it's more of a cash grab than anything else.. The costs quoted are just so huge, and I cant see a successful SEO specialist being duped out of such crazy web dev/hosting fees.

But I am biased of course, Jan being the victim has always been a possibility

yeah, $25k for a site that you are already getting money on? That's a money grab attempt if I've ever seen one... and considering that it costs money to play a free game here (aka the 'original' money grab), it isn't surprising.
