The Global tab already lists when players enter the game.
For instance:
Sun 11 Jan Autumn 1907: GameMaster: daddabumbaladda has taken over Turkey.

I have another suggestion. Somtimes on the forum people get personal messages regarding their games. Well sometimes I dont see those messages. There should be another section for messages regarding that individual

The Global tab does list players taking over CD countries... however the Global tab (and all other communication, obviously) is invisible to individuals outside of that particular game. I don't want to pick up CD positions anymore because it has no benefit to me, frankly - they are usually losing positions and my record and to some degree my reputation (as sswang points out) gets hurt. Indeed, picking up a CD position should be rewarded - as it improves the game for the others involved.

I see picking up CDs as beneficial in a number of ways:

you get to play out chosen scenarios - usually tough ones (like playing a Chess game from a given starting position - 'win in six');

it does help out where a game would otherwise be ruined;

even the better positions are often very difficult to profit from as you can easily walk into a gang - you have no idea of the prior press/agreements...

Unfortunately, Ghostie does not count these in his rankings: shame really because I have had some very good games winning, losing and just surviving from CD entries.

Ghost doesn't use CD's for rankings... odd... I already thought it was high, but man... must be pretty good in that case.

I have a better suggestion. CD players should get the game listed in their history as a defeat. I don't know what else should you call it - really! CD is for losers!!! That might reduce the number of CDs. In the original rules the players of the game at the start would decide the policy on CD take over. It was not an automatic. I think the policy of what happens to a CD country should be an option in the game creation and should be announced from the outset. Either no CDs allowed or CDs allowed. I would prefer it be during game play - like a draw or pause command. If all current players agree (or majority) the the takeover takes place.

It should listed as left. Currently you only get a "left" if no one takes it over. But if it gets taken over you are completely stricken from the record like you never played.

It has been suggested that some players make new accounts to take over there own Cd positions to accomplish just that.
