In light of problems with people joining in time for leagues and tournaments, a concern over people getting pissed over CD Italy and Germanys and variants that end in draws that people would rather not count on their stats. I think we should have a /cancel global chat feature which ends the game with no statistical consequences and returns the points to the players who entered. Braveheart pitched a similar idea that allowed this to happen in 1901 but I don't think we should limit ourselves having played in a number of variants recently that have hiked my number of draws up.

I don't think this is a priority, nor do I have the programming skills to implement it myself. But I'd like to facilitate some discussion on it because I feel it solves a couple problems people have been having.

well I would guess that it just cancels the game, sort of like a draw I guess but it wouldn't be counted under you drawn games?

I think canceling games before they start is a good idea, I had 3 games up with 50 php buy in and no one joined any... I wish I coulda cancled em got my paints back and joined other games which are now closed

Sounds like an advancement and an enhancement to me... horray for the Forum

It is also helpful in some cases to allow cancel or drop for an individual player in the beginning. I was setting up private games and wrong people joined.
