Another upstart question. Help a newbie!!!!

My game is Bloody Bounty (6163). I don't understand a move. Rumania holds and Ukraine supports a hold. However, I go Amr to Bul by convoy of Black Sea and supported by Sev. Why do I not win that battle?

Admission of metagaming?

In the game Let's Rule the World, DirtyDiaperDicky has admitted to forming an unbreakable alliance with HappyFunBall, who he claims to be his coworker. I do believe this is cheating, and completely unfair to the rest of the players who expected an honest game. What can be done?

Rules question: Convoys and Standoffs (ODD SCENARIO)

Suppose two armies are ordered to the same coastal territory and neither of them have support. One moves from an adjacent land province; the other from somewhere overseas but doesn't have a convoy. Does the standoff still occur?

My suspicion is no, but perhaps the programming of this site says otherwise. Please discuss.

Would it be cheating if...

You accuse two people in a game of meta'ing so you can form a 5-2 alliance and have your "allies" attack them then attack them from behind? or is that to diplomatic?

The League

Hello everyone, let me start by saying that the League is turning out to be a great idea. Metagaming can be bad - but the 'Group' metagaming is definitely a good thing.

It has upped the level of play - as people no longer care only about the particular game, but also about the long-term. I mean, we don't do favors - but noone wants to look crazy. We might not like each-other more :) - but we know that it is in our strong interest to be able to work together. We have out small 'site' - a private community with 7 people - which means you have to behave. This format just requires it from you to play better. Though, the last game will be fun :)
And people are very agressive in these games - I am yet to back-stab anyone? - busy all the time fending off backstabbers :)

So, what I wanted to suggest/ask - is how do the other participants feel? Would it make sense to expand this concept - have more Leagues or a more complicated structure with more people involved - but still keeping the Groups as they are?

I have planned a system with the following:

Premier League
League A
Leagues B1, B2
Leagues C1, C2

plus some more leagues if more people sign-up.

There will be promotion and relegation etc. which should make things more fun.

I am having a few issues with gameplay, some of which may be hitting the forum shortly. It is a bit bizzare, frankly, but we shall see. I do not want to post without speaking to the person involved, as that would be unfair on him.

Presently, my only suggestion would have been to rotate the top 2 in each game up a table and the bottom 2 down a table after each game. This would give a better mix I feel. It would however require all games to end before starting the next.

Well, if three people drop out, then a new player can join. To enter the waiting list simply write me an email (address is in my profile).

A new season will also start in around Feb. New players can join then too.

I don't agree TheMasterGamer. Sometimes people just get eliminated. If England, Germany and Italy all turn on France then the French player only has so many options. Look at Rait, he was eliminated in the first league game wasn't he?

Overall League play has been terrific, although I have faired poorly, especially in this second one.

Centurian, I did not mean that any player was better or worse, just that it mixes things up better in my view.

I would even amend my idea and suggest the winner and the loser move up and the 2nd and 6th place move down. That way if you have a 2-way draw, as we have, those 2 players will be split apart.

Thank you, phpdiplomacy. This is the first site I have ever encountered where courtesy and civility are overwhelmingly part of the culture. Rarely have I come across any sort of offensiveness, and when I did, it was immediately frowned upon and condemned. So thank you, for being one of the most pleasant sites on the internet. Which is ironic, given the nature of the game...
