but in any case, if you really don't care about the american flag then don't stand for it. america's got a long history, we've seen segregation under that flag, and we've also seen 400,000 die in WWII for it as well. but at the very least you could stand for the flag showing that you're willing to work for a better country.
remember that? people working to make the country a better place, a fairly bipartisan goal: we all want to do what's best, we only differ in how we think we should go about it.
well, nowadays it's political, because OF COURSE it is. the american flag is no longer something to stand together and say, let's make progress tomorrow, instead it's a tool, something to either respect of piss on depending on whether or not you're happy with policy or just society.
it's your right to be a part of a movement aimed at tearing down any and all social fabric americans have in common, but it's my right to call you an asshole for doing that.
