A left/right populist coalition could form. Trump is mostly conservative, but there were plenty of angry people, including some Sanders supporters (but *not* yours truly), who voted for upheaval.

Trade unions are also lining up behind Trump for his plans on infrastructure. Of course, Democrats wanted to do this when Obama was POTUS, but the GOP stopped him at every turn.

Infrastructure spending is probably only a short term fix. Ideally though, we would do all the building continually. I suspect unions will be co-opted, then left high and dry.

If you're building a coalition around a single event, then I feel like that's too narrow. An anti-Russia coalition would be more akin to ora's suggestion. Kuta's infrastructure coalition sounds more broad and accessible.

Thoreau and Civil disobedience

I would have previously presumed to recommend resistance. But i suspect the Trump administration is planning for the public to tire themselves out protesting, and eventually lose all energy to oppose him, while his administration quietly makes out like banditos.

And that freedom is being threatened, by Presidents, Bush and his 'Patriot Act', Obama and his drone campaign (extra judicial killings of American citizens), and by Trump's actions designed to divide americans against themselves.

By the media, selling fear. Creating a mass distraction to more money, dividing the public into bipartisan camps, those for us and against us.

It is threatened by the gerrymandering of electoral districts, and the creation of blue vs red places to live. By the local parties, and the constant simplification of policy into exactly two camps.

It is threatened mostly by the monied interests, be they media - as described above - or military-industrial complex - which pushes a global arms trade and hawkish foreign policy - or the corporate lobbiests - who care only for their shareholder's profits and not the people.

But especially by the Trump campaign. He's filed to run in 2020 means you can now donate to his campaing, you know, in case you wanted to bribe the man...

American freedom is threatened. And not by Islamic extremists, but by the reaction to them. By the people profiting from it, by the oil companies who pushed for an invasion of Iraq and left it an unstable place in the first place...

America's freedom is threatened by it's own greed. And the citizens who are suffering, who were thrown aside wen the recession hit, thry are being targeted for division. Promises of jobs for white americans, while throwing mexicans and muslims under the bus are just that. Attempts to divide.

And those same promises are to give money to the powerful corporations. Tax breaks unrelated to the number of employees a company might have...
