The right digit's pattern is because it's a 9. The second last digit is the same reason (the last digit's a nine).

And the first two -- well, are counting by 8s, which always lower the second digit by two (mod 10), and *usually* increase the first digit.

But possibly you are talking about a more sophisticated pattern than I noticed.

The difference between them is 1,2,3,4,5,6 etc.

Trading on the base of graphs and patterns such as this (chartists, they are called) have been shown not to work any more often than just randomly picking stocks. To correctly pick stocks, you need to base it on information and fundamentals. Such as: Elon Musk turns everything he touches into gold. Tesla is now almost $100 a share higher now than it was at the beginning of the year. Now, I would call that a bit of an overreaction, since the company's value and potential didn't really triple overnight, so I would expect the stock to drop off a bit.

@goldfinger - where did I say I based the decission to trade on graphs? I like to trade around events such as Central bank decisions or non-farm payroll releases. I also keep an eye on the charts obviously to try and buy low, sell high (or sell hign then buy cheap). I also keep an eye on sentiment and try and play contry to the crowd. My golden ratio was only used to as a way to minimise losses and maximise profits. Suppose an announcement about interest rates QE or tapering is due at 1pm. I'm not privvy to the contents of the report, but I think the contents will either move the EURUSD up or down. I decide to bet the Euro up. If I'm right I'll take profit at 80.90pips, If I'm wrong I'll stop my loss at 50 pips. If I win 50% of all bets, I will win more than I lose. I know I won't win 50% ofmy bets as sometimes my bet will reach 75pips and then crash through the floor taking out my stop loss. My stratagy works best around high volitilty risk events. Do you trade?
