Germany, Austria, Italy, and Turkey CD. Although one comes back and the others are taken over, Russia is able to steamroll the east. France fights Italy (me) instead of holding the northern line. Turkey is ineffective; Russia takes the cheapest, most undeserved solo I've ever seen. Really, awful.

SplitDiplomat, this is the second or third time you've done something like this in a game that I've seen. You're pathetic.

@Chaqa - So did you scoop up Italy after the CD? If so, you were looking to take advantage of the Gernamy/Austria CDs too ... pretty awful game, but hard to blame the whole mess on SD.

When I took over Italy, Turkey was already back, so I figured if I took Italy I could hold Russia back.

And for that reason he and France were the only one without a "draw/cancel" while the rest of us had it from the autumn '01.

I joined in Spring 1902 and left Draw and Cancel up until 1904, when I withdrew draw. In 1905 Autumn I took off cancel and put draw back up.

I just think getting victories based on CD is downright low. I wonder how many of your points came from shallow wins like that?

It was essentially France's fault, and I believe he is a newcomer - he had no flags up thru 1904, at least, IIRC. I say newcomer since he also missed a build early on, and attacked England (me) when looking at an unopposed Russia heading west.

I always vote cancel in fall 01 if anyone is nmr. I'll ony shift to draw after 04 or so, and only pull that if folks keep going after 08 or so.

Split gave us a chance to draw, but I suspect France simply had no clue about game dynamics.

Democrats Hate Women?

There are a couple prominent Democrats in the news recently doing foul things towards women...and have been prominent Democrats in the past (4 examples to follow). The party line response? SILENCE. Funny, the White House openly speaks about all sorts of race issues...but on Sexual abuse by Democrats...silence. Do DEMOCRATS HATE WOMEN?

When Player 1 is getting beaten in a Diplomacy game, and resigns, and some other player takes over the position, does this count as a loss for Player 1 in Ghost Rank?

Manslaughter

I didn't follow the Martin/Zimmerman case too closely (mostly because the media turned it into a politically-charged circus, as they do most everything they latch onto), and while the stand-your-ground law is plain stupid, he was not guilty of murder under the law. However, I don't understand why he wasn't guilty of manslaughter.
