@Pres Bladerunners I just proposed 3 things in an effort to fix some of these mistakes

Poolio. I like how you think and fully agree with you but it was still unbelievable and not so much a colony issue but a game issue. We can do everything right but 1 player and/or GM can just state "i blow up te colony" or "our people all become homicidal maniacs and start killing others". Rest of us players have no say or influence

You raise a great point. How about this then, from now on, certain rules can be imposed on the GM and the players. Something to prevent something like this from happening without everyone agreeing upon it. A give and take system. Players can't just order a purge-like scenario and the GM can't just say "everyone is psychopathic now!" This is just me thinking, I'm sure someone more experienced with these types of games could do better

Also, I proposed Alien Genome Project as a research directive. I value Alien culture and would very much love to know more about them

From what I read Byron murked a former leader and Jadran wanted an investigation and you turned on Branimir and Jadran both for not havong psychotic levels of fanatic unquestionable loyalty.

When Byron ordered the secret service to rally troops to mobilize the army the secret service told commanders on the ground that the President was in danger and it was a must to act upon any actionable intel immediately.

I was unable to do anything because the council was dilly dallying about how much power to give me. Im not the type to overstep my bounds. The President acted alone and our troops fanatically followed orders.

Ive been general for a few days. You really think the men follow me when youve got a tyrant president, a defense minister doing whatever he wants, a state secretery doing all his dealings privately and threatening to abandon ynbar because the secret service reported to the wrong branch in a crisis?

Brainbot: you need to be aware of one other issue if you do this. Jorgenson will explain it probably better than me. Its called the simulacrum conundrum. There cant be two versions of you. And if there are- the lesser will be compelled to irrationally kill you. In this case anyone WE send back would be a superior version. Because of knowledge of evemts yet to come. Hence a cllr like leon who can find you will endanger your ability to make it out alive. If the lesser simulacrum kills you it can reverberate and alter your individual space time...

I reckon the time travel attempt is our Hail Mary shot. We are not in a position to get our colony back on its feet after this - given that we will likely face recriminations and denouncements from the rest of the galaxy, whether or not we argue that it "was all the fault of one deranged guy". That's one deranged guy that we elected president. Twice. So let's take a little bit of responsibility here...

I say we send General Jorgenson on this suicide mission, since he has volunteered. And I will go with him, as I have very little to lose (given that we're about to lose 24 population, we've got more than enough food to keep the rest going for quite a while). If I die in the past, then so be it.

I am all for Captain Jorgenson's proposal. It would essentially go back to everything being a proposal and the President only having veto power like when I was President (wait, what?). Anyhow...

I am not in favor of going back in time. It's all too confusing.

Felt super inspired when I went to sleep, but after thinking about it, blades is right. I don't want to invest my time into a game where all hell can break loose and Armageddon starts while this person or that was away and most people have no say in the matter. The congo made sense since we did attempt to hack them on a hunch. And failed miserably. Twice. On an L1 when Racunar was easily hacked and was an L22. I was playing it like two of my apprentices ( that I hand picked and trained ) fucked up...but this? It's completely unfeasible. Now we are talking about time travel and...jeez nah... Thanks for the fun, but I'm opting out.
