Did anyone miss Putin33?
After a couple of days, and seeing him participate in a few heated arguments, I ask the population of webDip. Did you miss Putin33? I know I did. Whether for laughing at him and his ideology, glad of a champion of your ideology, someone to defend Russia, or someone else to call krellin names, who had SOME reason to be glad he is back?

Did Cameron do this on purpose?
http://www.theguardian.com/world/2014/jun/28/cameron-eu-juncker-defeat-britain-exit

His foreign policy is a total shambles but maybe he did this on purpose to accelerate the Brexit. It takes great strategic planning to bungle something this badly.

Could someone explain to me how to get the derivative of:
(3x^2+6x)/(2x^3+2)^5
So [(3x^2+6x)/(2x^3+2)^5]'=.....
I've missed quite some math classes lately and I need to know how to solve this type of thing (and other things but anyway) for a test tomorrow. I could probably figure it out myself eventually, but I just don't have the time and I have quite a bit more to go through.
Would someone be willing to show me the steps I should take?

Of Kurds and Caliphates
http://news.yahoo.com/netanyahu-calls-jordan-support-kurdish-autonomy-214846630.html The ISIS today declared itself to be an Islamic State...and we'll see how long that lasts, or where that goes...meanwhile, Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyau called for support for the Jordanians (gee, I can't imagine why) and independence for Iraq's Kurds. Which is a more likely state to be recognized/come into being/"stick," a Kurdistan (if you will) or this ISIS caliphate? Thoughts?

B.J. Upton powers Braves past Phillies 3-2
Gerald Laird had two hits with a double and RBI for the Braves, who won for the sixth time in seven games though ending their road trip 8-3. Atlanta avenged a three-game sweep by Philadelphia June 16-18 at Turner Field.

Question for the mods:
I note we have some newish stats, like reliability rating. Ilove the idea of this. Is there some way we can set up games with a minimum reliability rating threshhold for participants? That would be a really nice way to filter out the people who join live games and then immediately quit the moment the game does not work out for them.

He went after jokers as if their posts were serious, which is different than just going after them for joking, and he townread you over almost nothing. I didn't even vote him at the time, because it was, admittedly, thin. I just said it was suspicious.

OK, thanks.

Well, I feel like I may be making a huge mistake, but I think this is the best I can do. I have done the best I can, my town, and (comfortingly to me) I think my choice reflects that of the bulk of the departed.

Yellowjacket walked to the gallows, resigned to sadness. The town had made a mistake, he said. But they put the noose around his head, and the spirit of Gtlblx pulled the lever.

After searching him, they found a contract addressed to the Rough Riders.

Semck read the letter, shocked. The letter was signed by...

THE BARTENDER! Suddenly, the bartender stabs ghug in the back.

Semck reacted quickly, pulling his revolver. He aimed his shot. A shot.

Days later, semck sat alone in his home. He is the last.

The town has won.

HECK YES!

I never doubted you for a second, ghug.
Yellowjacket (835 D(B))
26 Jun 14 UTC
@ghug, I knew from D3 that unless PE did something weird, it was going to come down to you, me, and either gtlblx or semck. I was terrified even at that point because you were just...tooo...damn.. townie. I had nothing to pin on you, and so I just tried to post a bunch of little things and distract semck from your obvious strengths.
semck83 (229 D(B))
26 Jun 14 UTC
Superb job, YJ. You made it seem almost impossible you were mafia. All that saved us was that ghug did the same, and had slightly better arguments.
Yellowjacket (835 D(B))
26 Jun 14 UTC
@semck it had to be you at the end. Maniac was just too focused on me, and gtlblx seemed to be mostly against me as well. I know how sharp you are, but I know you love a good argument too, and would have a better chance of being distracted by my huge posts. In addition, we've had enough discussions that I know what types of arguments you find effective. Unfortunately, ghug knew too.
semck83 (229 D(B))
26 Jun 14 UTC
Yeah, at the end of the day there wasn't a single piece of evidence against ghug that I felt was strong. He did an amazing job both defending himself and prosecuting you. Had he flipped mafia, I was going to urge strongly and in all seriousness that he be lynched early in every future game because he was just too dang dangerous.
Yellowjacket (835 D(B))
26 Jun 14 UTC
absolutely agreed. I knew I was offering an inferior argument compared to his. That's simply because I'm the one who was lying. Despite my decent play, the fact that I was lying, and he made no major mistakes, made it very difficult to pin anything solid on him,
Maniac (189 D(B))
26 Jun 14 UTC

Yeah Maniac, I owe you an apology.

YJ, did my scumslip claim make you sweat at least a little? Or was it pretty transparent?
Yellowjacket (835 D(B))
26 Jun 14 UTC
I thought it was probably at me (I did not consider you might have been bluffing) because the only actual scumslip I had (in addition to the important D2 one ghug pointed out regarding PE) nobody had yet mentioned.

If you're curious, I posted the unnoticed slip in the mafia thread where I slap myself after saying it :P

I'd offer town MVP to ghug, but it was pretty obviously PE who truly deserves that reward.

If not for his actions, there is a good chance I could have been up against bosox for the win, not ghug.

Bah, PE doesn't deserve it. ghug town MVP for sure.
ghug (5068 D(B))
26 Jun 14 UTC
Damn, that was suspenseful.

@Semck, I freaked out for a minute when you said you had found a scumslip, but then I realized that it was most likely a bluff. I really wanted YJ to dig his own grave there, but he just held out on posting until you admitted it was a bluff.

@Mafia, I just read your QT thread. Things would have gone a lot better for you if you had killed me instead of Vash night one.

@Everyone, no SK ever again please. PE made that way too easy for us. Mafia probably would have won if he had just been vanilla town.
Yellowjacket (835 D(B))
26 Jun 14 UTC
I like the SK, I would like to try it.

It's not a role that is really supposed to win very often, it's more just to add an interesting angle for others. I don't like what PE did, particularly, but it could easily be avoided by forbidding the SK to ever admit he is the SK.

Coastal Movement
Normally, when two units make a move to each other's territories, it causes a bounce (Rhur moves to Munich while Munich moves to Rhur). However, would coasts be treated as different territories for fleets? For example, could a fleet in Spain (nc) move to MAO while another fleet in MAO moved to Spain (sc)? Same with Bulgarian coasts and Constantinople. Thanks in advance!

The Favorite Author Tournament: THE FINAL FOUR!
OK, sorry for the delay...and the continued delay--we'll start Midnight tonight. ORWELL! DICKENS! POE! TOLKIEN! Who will advance?

And a bonus question, just for schnicks and giggles--what's the first book you read after high school (or, if it was a while ago, the earliest book you can remember reading after high school?) Just curious to see what we get.
