Did anyone miss Putin33?
After a couple of days, and seeing him participate in a few heated arguments, I ask the population of webDip. Did you miss Putin33? I know I did. Whether for laughing at him and his ideology, glad of a champion of your ideology, someone to defend Russia, or someone else to call krellin names, who had SOME reason to be glad he is back?

Did Cameron do this on purpose?
http://www.theguardian.com/world/2014/jun/28/cameron-eu-juncker-defeat-britain-exit

His foreign policy is a total shambles but maybe he did this on purpose to accelerate the Brexit. It takes great strategic planning to bungle something this badly.

Could someone explain to me how to get the derivative of:
(3x^2+6x)/(2x^3+2)^5
So [(3x^2+6x)/(2x^3+2)^5]'=.....
I've missed quite some math classes lately and I need to know how to solve this type of thing (and other things but anyway) for a test tomorrow. I could probably figure it out myself eventually, but I just don't have the time and I have quite a bit more to go through.
Would someone be willing to show me the steps I should take?

Of Kurds and Caliphates
http://news.yahoo.com/netanyahu-calls-jordan-support-kurdish-autonomy-214846630.html The ISIS today declared itself to be an Islamic State...and we'll see how long that lasts, or where that goes...meanwhile, Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyau called for support for the Jordanians (gee, I can't imagine why) and independence for Iraq's Kurds. Which is a more likely state to be recognized/come into being/"stick," a Kurdistan (if you will) or this ISIS caliphate? Thoughts?

Question for the mods:
I note we have some newish stats, like reliability rating. Ilove the idea of this. Is there some way we can set up games with a minimum reliability rating threshhold for participants? That would be a really nice way to filter out the people who join live games and then immediately quit the moment the game does not work out for them.

@semck

"Also YJ, if you have evidence to rebut ghug re: you being his #1 scumread in the p.50's, that would be relevant."

No, this is a big deal, so I'll address it.

This was way past P50. The relevant pages were P74 and p79. On 74 he makes this claim that "YJ is his number 1 scumread," but by P79 he's let me off the hook entirely in order to wrap up a clear and easy lynch/end on bo sox. Nothing significant had changed in the interim, nothing except the death of maniac.

Why would that make him want to vote bosox? Maniac was scumreading me. This behavior is entirely inconsistent with his latest posted read of me.
Yellowjacket (835 D(B))
26 Jun 14 UTC
@semck yes, I will let chaqa make his eod statement however it turns out.

I agree that's super important, but I'm not seeing the p.74 post you mention. Mind finding it? Thanks! (Post the first sentence, e.g., or any exact quote).
Yellowjacket (835 D(B))
26 Jun 14 UTC
@semck re: winning strategy clearly not, the way things are turning out. All 3 remaining cleared townies (you, gtlblx, maniac) were mostly townreading ghug throughout. Is it not also a winning strategy to off those candidates who found me most suspicious, just to skew the remaining person to decide in his favor? It's entirely likely.
semck83 (229 D(B))
26 Jun 14 UTC
I think leaving bo alive to be the last lynch would be clearly preferable. If it were ghug and bo right now, I'd have voted END a long time ago.
semck83 (229 D(B))
26 Jun 14 UTC
Anyway, I now see what you meant on p. 74 about #1 scumread. I think ghug has addressed that pretty well, unfortunately.
Yellowjacket (835 D(B))

@semck

"I agree that's super important, but I'm not seeing the p.74 post you mention. Mind finding it? Thanks! (Post the first sentence, e.g., or any exact quote)."

Ghug said:

"Second, I think the most likely scumteam right now is pj and YJ. Even though Maniac's recent nonsense is nonsense, and bo was acting stupidly around end of phase, I think that bo is likely innocent due to Warden's going after him so hard early. I'll read back and try to connect pj/YJ/Warden when I get the chance to, but that's unlikely to be before night ends."

He said this before maniac died. Maniac then died, which he argues is a pro-YJ-as-mafia kill, but he does absolutely nothing the next day to push me on this. He just kills the low hanging fruit that is bosox, despite his recent read of me.
ghug (5068 D(B))
26 Jun 14 UTC
YJ, you're misquoting me againg.

Page 74, I said

"One of the things I found damning of YJ was Warden’s pushing for doc_oc’s lynching day one, however it seems after a reread that he wasn’t really making a strong case against doc_oc or showing preference of lynching one over the other, as he really just wanted to establish himself against a bandwagon on an innocent."

This is fully explained. You were never my "number one scumread" no matter how many times you want to make up quotes, and I was pretty clear on why my reads changed.
Yellowjacket (835 D(B))
26 Jun 14 UTC
I don't think he has... a few stupid statements by ghug should not have been enough to sway his opinion if he is acting reasonably, especially in light of the death of maniac.
semck83 (229 D(B))
26 Jun 14 UTC
I don't understand your most recent "in light of the death of maniac" post, YJ. Please elaborate.
Yellowjacket (835 D(B))
26 Jun 14 UTC
" I think the most likely scumteam right now is pj and YJ."

How is this not saying I'm the #1 read? Are you still trying to push that you weren't almost entirely convinced that PJ was scum at that point?
Yellowjacket (835 D(B))
26 Jun 14 UTC
Because, both maniac and PJ died that N3.

ghug has argued that PJ/YJ is his #1 scumteam.

The death of maniac, who scumread me, added to the death of PJ, who he said is the likeliest scumpair with me, then leads him to vote... bosox? It doesn't make any sense.
semck83 (229 D(B))
26 Jun 14 UTC
Here's the thing.

In my initial post at the end of last (game) night, I asked if ghug could be Machiavellian enough to play as he has since D2. I've decided he could be. After all -- if he's mafia, it's about to work, ergo it's a potentially good strategy.

The problem is, even though I know ghug is a Machiavellian dude, I need actual evidence, and I still just don't have much at all. If he's scum, he's done a virtually perfect job. The fact that he didn't kill me or gtl instead of Maniac seems incredibly significant, too.
semck83 (229 D(B))
26 Jun 14 UTC
@YJ, what about his p.77 back-off post?
ghug (5068 D(B))
26 Jun 14 UTC
PJ was my number one scumread, I thought you were his most likely partner. You've been misquoting me all day to make this case seem stronger. I was fully consistent in changing my reads, which you're refusing to admit.
Yellowjacket (835 D(B))
26 Jun 14 UTC
Yes, you have to ultimately go with your reads, I understand that. I just hope you're not letting them be too much influenced by ghug's words.

However innocent he may seem, the case against me as scum is quite weak as well. I think it's very important to remember how sharp ghug is, as well as his almost prescient ability to finger WD and PJ very very early in the game.
semck83 (229 D(B))
26 Jun 14 UTC
Also, YJ, how is this SCUMMY? Don't you acknowledge that it would actually have been BETTER for ghug (if he's Mafia) to stay on you and argue for you, instead of bo, since he would have arrived at this day with somebody everyone thought was scum? (I, at least, had been confidently arguing for bo for about 40 pages. It's predictable that if you had been mislynched, I'd have cursed the town and voted bo and end).

I know, YJ, and ghug is a superb rhetorician. I've been trying to be careful. But ... his case just seems pretty strong.

I'll consider D1 some more, where he did seem scummy.

@semck

Seems a pretty unconvincing "back off" to me. PJ had died, and flipped scum. That should have confirmed his suspicions, not reduced them.
ghug (5068 D(B))
26 Jun 14 UTC
YJ, how is the case on you not strong? Your day two actions alone, defending Warden/PJ and trying to get PE lynched, are pretty damn scummy, and there's sufficient evidence elsewhere as well.

26 Jun 14 UTC
ghug, remind me why you did go after Warden D1, please. Because he went after jokers? Thin. Was there anything else?
Yellowjacket (835 D(B))
26 Jun 14 UTC
@ghug you've tried to paint that as the case, but I've already talked it over with semck, and since he isn't currently pressing me on it, I assume he is unconvinced by your rot.

Coastal Movement
Normally, when two units make a move to each other's territories, it causes a bounce (Rhur moves to Munich while Munich moves to Rhur). However, would coasts be treated as different territories for fleets? For example, could a fleet in Spain (nc) move to MAO while another fleet in MAO moved to Spain (sc)? Same with Bulgarian coasts and Constantinople. Thanks in advance!

And a bonus question, just for schnicks and giggles--what's the first book you read after high school (or, if it was a while ago, the earliest book you can remember reading after high school?) Just curious to see what we get.
