uclabb, I suppose we should have realized, about 43 players, after the first six games one person will have to sit out, so in order to even things up, for all of the other 42 players to take a turn sitting out, that would require 42 more rounds of six games...
Regardless, I do very much like what you came up with, and I agree with Stack, the Uclabb System is by far the best approach all things considered! With 42, it sounds like everyone knows they will play someone twice, and the Uclabb System only has a few repeats and those are random (or so I assume, I haven't looked too close lately, but I'll go double check). I think seven games each is very nearly a requirement, and thus we should go with the Uclabb System.
As far as *bye* rounds, that's easy. uclabb's first game should be played at the very end of the tournament, preceded by six rounds of six games, starting with the second game that starts with '1', and the first game that starts with '2', '3', '4', '5', and '6'.
