I kind of agree that I don't want to know, because the answer can ONLY be disappointing, because the whole set up of TFA was garbage. Snoke was poorly written in to create a big bad guy puppet master. he's discount palpatine. and he's garbage.

I don't want to explore Snoke's backstory, I don't want to create some bullshit excuse for how this occurred... but what I WANT is a competent fucking film franchise, and as long as we're not getting that, they need to at least try to keep the universe coherent

There needs to be a prequel trilogy to this where it shows how snoke rose to power. And how Jar Jar trained him
