The Ancient Med - not year 1
What year is the Ancient Mediterranean set? Definitely not year 1AD, by then the Med was a Roman Lake. Carthage was destroyed in 146BC, Egypt fell to Rome in 47BC, Greece had been Roman for centuries. Only Persia can claim some independence on that map.

Well Full Press 2 is over... I'm rather shocked at that ending...
Congrats to semck for proving he is one of the most retarded players on the website.

Congrats to Tasnica for again taking perfect advantage of the retardicism of others.

Nice try Kyle.

I didn't see that happening at all. I mean, I didn't expect semck just to die, but I hadn't even taken a centre off him yet... I had been trying to contact him for the past hour after Germany said he was going to move for the solo again. After Germany told me that, I wasn't going to move on Italy.

I just don't understand.

But I guess Tasnica's team has won. Good game Tas.

Well, maybe not guaranteed, but that solo does put them at the front by a wide margin...

if Turkey wasn't a fool falling for Germany's solo trap that game would have ended in a 4 way draw like it was supposed to.
You mean "if ITALY wasn't a RETARD falling for Germany's solo trap that game would have ended in a THREE way draw like it was supposed to."

Since I was Russia, I'm happy it was a solo at the and, regardless which team benefits in the world cup overall. Turkey evaluated the situation badly I guess, and I'm really happy italy was brave enough to pull the plug!
semck83 (229 D(B))
18 Nov 12 UTC
I did miss Turkey's messages at the end (I was asleep), but I probably wouldn't have believed them anyway. I had given Turkey an extremely clear ultimatum the season before, and he had thereafter moved into position to kill me. There was nothing I could do to prevent that outcome at this point, and my position to throw was going to be gone soon too. Pretty simply, I make it a point to follow through on ultimata, or what's the point? Anyway I assume there may be an EOG when we can discuss this in more detail.

Sorry Kyle. I guess you planned to be trustworthy, so I wish this had ended differently.
Italy wasn't brave, roka, he tossed away a guaranteed Three way draw. Sure, Turkey might have pushed to eliminate him but he had several years in front of him with which he could throw the game. He made a terrible choice and threw a game away before it was over. This is worse than 1901 opening and just moving to non-SC neutrals and entering all holds for the rest of the game. It is like the Italian chose to not play the game and chose to just give up. it is disgusting and inexcusable.

Tasnica deserves credit though because he is the best player on this site at manipulating other players, he is the most unapologetic liar and overall the biggest scumbag going. I am not surprised by this outcome for this reason.

It would be fun to get Tasnica into a game without any morons.
"Sorry Kyle. I guess you planned to be trustworthy, so I wish this had ended differently."

You made this choice and you did this, there is absolutely no blame to be assigned to Kyle. semck, you are without a doubt, one of the worst players and weakest minds I have encountered on this site.
KyleFC (917 D)
18 Nov 12 UTC
But you followed up with a message saying if I didn't move back, you'd throw the game after I moved into Budapest. I moved back, you threw the game anyways. The convoy to Rome would have been reasonable if I took a centre, which I never did. I couldn't have taken you out in one year. If I did start to take your centres, you would have had plenty of opportunities to throw the game afterwards.
rokakoma (19138 D)
18 Nov 12 UTC
@Lando, I have to disagree, Turkey's press was bad all over the game, Italy made the right call. I doubt you were following press between turkey/me or turkey/italy, but this has been a clear Turkey was never committed to anything but a 2-way.

He had several opportunities to prove that, and he constantly failed to do so. There was no reason to trust him at any circumstances, as Italy stated correclty.

Of course Tasnica deserves the credit, he played it well diplomatically. But moreover I think Turkey deserves the loss, he was greedy, and he payed the price. That's all.
semck83 (229 D(B))
18 Nov 12 UTC
Lando, Kyle can take Trieste, Naples, and Tyrolia this season with no risk (thanks to the fleet in Berlin). Thereafter, my ability to throw is extremely compromised.
KyleFC (917 D)
18 Nov 12 UTC
Although, admittedly I understand the ultimatum, there really wasn't much opportunity to agree with it.
semck83 (229 D(B))
18 Nov 12 UTC
Here was my message, Kyle. It was sent in the spring:

"So -- please give me Vienna, and leave Ionian, Budapest, Serbia, and Albania empty. If you do not agree, I will throw the game to Germany in the fall.

That's pretty much it. We can each get 140 D or 0 D. I'd like 140 D, so I hope that's what you choose, but it's up to you."

I meant that message, and after you completely ignored it and moved all your units onto my border, I was never going to trust you again. Every message after that was just a smokescreen to keep you from suspecting the plan and attacking Tyrr.
So why not support Germany to WMS instead and set up position to throw TUN away? You had more time than one move and you made a terrible, terrible mistake. One of the worst moves I have ever witnessed, You let Tasnica talk you into doing something purely retarded and as such you face 100% of the blame.
"So -- please give me Vienna, and leave Ionian, Budapest, Serbia, and Albania empty. If you do not agree, I will throw the game to Germany in the fall.

That's pretty much it. We can each get 140 or 0 . I'd like 140 , so I hope that's what you choose, but it's up to you."

Why did you even need to ask for these things? Why did it matter if he was in ION or VIE? They were irrelevant territories. You need to start to thinkif you're going to keep playing this game. You make the same points new players in their first live games make.
semck83 (229 D(B))
18 Nov 12 UTC
Any support was going to be broken obviously, Lando. That's not obvious?
I am amazed you managed to make it to a final in any tournament, let alone the end game. You have no concept of this game and it is horrible to witness someone butcher it in this way. Go read something or exercise your mind this game takes thinking.
rokakoma (19138 D)
18 Nov 12 UTC
@semck83: don't listen to lando, you made the right call! Turkey should have given you all the mediterranean part FAAAAR earlier to prove his commitment. Keeping himself in tunis, and securing he can hold the stalemate without you was just dumb.

He should have included you in the stalmate, giving you the opportunity to hold everything on the mediterranean. He missed that, you made the right decision. Don't pick up the insults from these guys around ;)
semck83 (229 D(B))
18 Nov 12 UTC
OK, yeah, never mind, obviously that can't be broken (duh). But the point is, Germany wasn't agreeing to any half measures. I'd tried that stuff earlier. Anything that would just put him in a better position so Turkey would back off and there would be a three way, he wouldn't do. Great strategy? Absolutely.
semck83 (229 D(B))
18 Nov 12 UTC
Another thing to keep in mind is that Turkey went completely AWOL from messaging the entire last year. I had suggested the Vienna plan in a much more friendly way earlier, and he had said nothing (he said he was busy), then toward the end of the spring phase, sent a brief message that made no reference at all to it or to any of my concerns. I then sent him my ultimatum, and never received another message from him (to that, or to the several I sent in the fall) until early this morning when I was asleep. Complete diplomatic silence from T fit well with the attack narrative.
". Anything that would just put him in a better position so Turkey would back off and there would be a three way, he wouldn't do. Great strategy? Absolutely."

This is meaningless - what are you trying to say? If Germany is stalemated he has no choice but to draw. Why on earth you are negotiating with the 17 SC power anyway is beyond me and exactly proving ym point.

And in response to your next message, this draw should have been achieved without messages - it was that freaking easy!
semck83 (229 D(B))
18 Nov 12 UTC
I agree, Lando, it was. The center of the line was completely secured.

Then Turkey moved two armies and a fleet onto my line and tried to dislodge the Tyrrhenian sea -- you know, even though we had the stalemate line and keeping it was THAT FREAKING EASY. So I've got somebody who just tried to attack me and who moved overwhelming forces onto my borders even though not one of those units was required to save the draw; who has enough force to wipe me out if he wants; and who won't respond to messages.

But I'm supposed to assume he's still working on the three-way?
KyleFC (917 D)
18 Nov 12 UTC
If I dislodged the Tyrrhenian Sea, we would still be playing. Your ability to throw the game this way was not predicated upon any further moves on you, but quite the opposite really.
semck83 (229 D(B))
18 Nov 12 UTC
You take Naples, Tyrolia, and Trieste, I have to destroy two units. You might do that and just bump my fleets because you think I won't do what I did. My ability to throw the game is then badly compromised.

But really, if you wanted to talk it out, the time was yesterday.
semck83 (229 D(B))
18 Nov 12 UTC
(I mean, you've got an opponent who just PROMISED to throw the game if you do what you now just did. You don't think some pretty quick messages are a good idea?)

Draws
Sifting through 10 pages of open positions, I am noticing that it's increasingly uncommon that people actually draw for a CD. In a few games, people have pushed for it, and others have seemed to have no understanding as to why they'd draw for a CD. Did this etiquette just disappear like magic? Pre-1903 CDs should *always* constitute a draw and post-1903 CDs should constitute a draw if they result in a loss of a line that would otherwise be present. When did this stop?
