I'd agree the forum ban is a viable alternative when the member is willing. But in this case I suspect he would not have been. I tried reaching out to him and initially had a productive conversation so I do know what you and octavoius are talking about. But then he switched to telling me how he'd prefer to get banned to prove the point that the site is biased. Once someone has that mindset there is really no point in a forum only ban. I know you know that zultar is willing to work with anyone, so for him to have gone with the ban I trust that he wasn't left with a choice. And just like with others banned for forum infractions I trust that if he makes the effort to come to an agreement in the future with the owners that he'd be allowed back. I'm just surprised that it seems you aren't willing to trust his judgement in this case, that's all.

i noticed earlier in this thread that @Condescension said that KB was accusing him of stalking him across multiple websites and in real life, and that the authorities had been notified. I found this interesting because KB had accused me of the exact same thing across multiple games (this is of course not true) and was trying to poison people toward me (and I assume Condescension) in different games and scenarios. This i believe is the very definition of meta gaming, and coupled with all of the other personal attacks he made, in game whining, and gross vitriol, the ban is warranted. If the site owners aren't going to remove people like that, then what are they going to do? Some people need to be banned, or else the rest of us can't have nice things.

I agree with jmo. Omnipotent Zultar doesn't ban people just on a whim. He and the Almighty Mods do try to work with people. Look at the way they handled the trouble involving Jamiet99uk. And look at how Jamiet99uk was allowed to rejoin. I'm really glad that Jamiet99uk came back to WebDiplomacy. Jamiet99uk showed real character and maturity in making a big effort at reconciliation, and Omnipotent Zultar demonstrated a generosity of spirit in allowing Jamiet99uk to return. Jamiet99uk coming back was, imho, one of the best things to happen here in some time.

I think that's a little unfair, DO. A win rate in double figures and reliability in the 90s is nothing to be sniffed at. There have been some members to this site over the years who have played literally hundreds of games and somehow managed to win less than 5% of them.
