Is this the highest stakes game played? Pot of 7000 . I notice three players have voted to draw already, how disappointing. This is one game I would like to see played to the death.
I have sent a message to the game mods about a no ingame messaging World XI game Im in days ago without reply - and I think its a clear case of either A) metagaming or B) Multi-account because the level of co-op without any supposed comms is unbelievable.
So far nothing at all from the mods - not even an acknowledgement of the mail - what should I do?

Suggest 1 TV show you think absolutely MUST be seen by others--and espeically those who are maybe in another country and not familiar with the show. The NEXT person who comes along must watch an episode of said show, and suggest one for the next person...and so on and so forth, until all shows ever to air on the Tube are watched by the WebDip community. :)
I don't know if anyone is interested in studying or analyzing things like that, but I am. When I was first starting to play diplomacy (back in, oh, February?), I immersed myself in reading all about the strategies and theories that people had written articles on. Since discovering this site (back in, oh, last week?) I've really come to enjoy the Ancient Med variant.

TA's are players who have been assigned a country and will personally advise you throughout the game, giving advice, possible moves to make strategically, diplomatically, etc. They usually do it by PM, though some prefer email.
Also, I'm realizing I should've saved a hard copy of the lists a loong time ago. Anyone remember who France's TA was? Bonotow comes to mind, but I don't think it was him
I think I am done with this game...and would also like to be replaced. I dont feel like I have learned very much....and that is not to blame my TA as all that I have learned was vital in my survival... but my complete interest has died...to the point where last contact with TA was almost 2-3 weeks ago....Maybe someone would like to replace me as well and learn for the end game.
@Riphen You might have lost interest in the game, but I would encourage you to stick around. I can tell you that the EOGs, if nothing else, will probably prove very interesting for you.
I agree with vordemu. I have some interesting things that might help players playing Italy in the future and there's a lot to be said about this game. I'm sure the game is nearly done since everyone has voted to draw except France who's in a losing position.
Riphen - when you joined this game you made a commitment to play it to the end. Subs are for people who are going into CD and physically cannot play anymore.
That said, I'm quite frankly disappointed with the number of students who have lost interest in the games in this SoW. There wasn't a single occurrence of that when I was a student. And Riphen, TA's are there to help you learn. Shoot them questions if you have them. It doesn't matter how experienced or not you are. Lord know's I'd still like to have other players critique my gameplay.
@goldfinger Given Riphen's comments on global, what do you think you're going to do if he CDs? He hasn't yet, and it may yet just all be part of some diplomatic ruse, but if he does what do you think about just letting the game be drawn? I, and it appears the rest of the board, prefer that course of action but if you want to continue the game I will continue playing.
Well. I can say I did learn a lot, even being the first to have been killed. And I'm looking forward to see the EOGs. It will be a shame if another one of us CDs, and worse if intentionally. I see it as a lack of respect with the professors and TAs, who engaged their time to help us less experienced players to enhance our gaming skills.
@livingghost - sorry, I was supposed to get on that, but I've been busy the past few days and traveling a lot. Go to help, search for a user, and type in uclabb, and that'll bring you to his page.
@vordemu - if another player goes CD, I suggest we either pause after the first NMR to find a replacement or draw the game, depending upon what the players want to do.

Well, I confess I give up doing my professor duties after that many NMRs and discussions. I think Riphen is wrong to give up, after you commit to a game you play to the end, even if you don´t like how the game goes (NMRs and CDs are part of the game unfortunetly and were handled the best possible way I think). But I really think a draw at this point is a fair result, considering that France´s NMRs and Russia NMRs really influenced a lot the game play.
I tend to agree, rdrivera. I commend those players who stuck through it all and never NMR'd, and apologize for letting in players who did NMR. I do hope that you all learned something from this game, and continue looking at the Game 2 thread. If all of you so choose, you may draw the game. Or, if you are of the opinion that you wish to continue, you may do so. I just ask that if you do choose to draw, everyone post their EOG's so everyone (including TA's and professors) can have a discussion on what happened
I must say, the NMR came at a pretty critical juncture.
Don't take it personally PE, it's got nothing to do with you, yet. My thread has had a lot of drops by professors. I've pretty much been commenting on it alone.
Haha, not taking it personally, Tru. It happens. Goodness, I'm hoping to be a professor of history myself, if I get thin-skinned about them dropping this class I won't last a semester in the real world. :P
Ha. Love the idea of drawing once I NMR. We dont need to draw once France NMR's at a vital moment..nah we will just replace...yea that will make everything better. Give Germany a advantage and shit. HA.
Eden...I dont know why you are saying your class.........what did you post..
Maybe 5 or 6 comments...while rdrivera did most of the work..on almost every phase.
That was one of the things I was disappointed in..Was Eden's lack of comments...as I have played many live games with Eden and all ways felt like a small child as I played against him...I respect him and wanted his opinion greatly but he lacked in that department.

We have a game which we all agreed to pause because 1 player needed. Now that he's back everyone but another player clicked unpause. Is there any way to conctact an admin so he can unpause the game?

The Terminator went back in time to kill Sarah and then John Connor. The Borg went back in time to stop First Contact and assimilate Earth. The Omega 13, for God's sake, allowed a do-over that let Tim Allen win. Why don't Doctor Who bad guys just travel back in time and kill him as a baby? (Also, wtf happened in this season finale...I'm STILL confused!) :p

Any other fans of the series interested in having a middle earth map for diplomacy? it is not on the to do list or planned at all, and i am just polling for thoughts on the topic. thoughts and ideas would be great, and if enough people want it then we can tell the mods and get it made, maybe.
