Hey, another comedian! Nothing like a long-time adversary (we must have played a dozen times now, starting in 2009!) busting your chops!!

I just get curious about how things work, especially since I like to run my own tournaments (webDip and otherwise), so believe you me I am *fully* aware of the challenge at hand, especially since our game play is sooo freakishly similar, I will try my best but know the chips will fall where they will, win lose or draw I will enjoy playing my old friend!! :-)

It's always a pleasure to play with you old friend. Odds aren't on my side, but at least I am playing with the bests.

cspieker is the third confirmed quarter finalist after a 2-1 victory over xorxes! This repeat of Spring's semi-final was a fascinating encounter that was truly a joy to spectate - I highly recommend rewatching those games :)

Tie-breaker clarification request:

When you speak of “most points” or “most wins” is it safe to assume that tie-breaker games do *not* count? For instance, if two people tie in the current round, and they both win as Austria, and then they play a tie-breaker game and Austria wins (no, I’m not asking because of Chuck!), does this mean the person that won this tie-breaker still gets 6 points *and* *two* wins as Austria to their credit, compared to someone that beats their opponent in both games initially (6 points yet only one win as Austria)? I assume the first person only gets 3 points and credit for one win as Austria, but I want to make sure since it wasn’t clear to me...

Points only play a role in the group stage, there are no points in the knockout stage.

In the knockout stage if there's a tie you play a third game. If that's a draw you play a fourth game, and if that's a draw again, the one that played Austria in the fourth game wins.

I'm not sure if countries for the fourth game (if needed) are assigned at random again or opposite from the third game.

Xorxes is correct. All tiebreaker game country draws are completely random though - Game 3 has 0 effect on any fourth game.
