The President shall now make a statement about his vision for the future of our colony. Be assured that he has read all of your concerns and arguments.
The President concurs with the majority that we should choose Space X as our financier. Space X can give us benefits that will help us thrive as a colony in the long term. Syscor Pharma only brings short-term benefits that will help us survive in the immediate future. Meanwhile, Shell Oil's benefits to mining and drilling aren't very useful in Ynbar-453, which I believe should be our destination, since the planet is deficient in metals.
This brings me to my next point, our destination planet. As I have stated, I believe that Ynbar-453 is the only acceptable destination planet. It is not that we could not survive on Chrysalis-x432 or Verbosy86T but rather that Ynbar-453 is the only planet where we might preserve our human dignity. Can we really say we are living when we must wear a space suit just to step outside our spaceship or biodome? Can we really say we are living when we might never be able to touch with our own skin the earth of the planet that we live on? No! Humanity evolved to live on an Earth-like planet, and Ynbar-453 is the only planet that matches the description. Our linguist, Tweeters, expressed his concern that living on a habitable planet might make us complacent. I say that is an insult to humanity! Humanity has never been complacent. We have lived on the habitable planet known as Earth for all of humanity's existence and look how far we've come! Sure, you might point to Africa, where the easy living may very well have caused evolution to slow the advance of civilization, but living on Ynbar-453 will not be easy. It will still take all our collective wits to survive, but at least we will live like humans and not animals, worrying about survival every minute of our lives. On Ynbar-453 we might rebuild a home similar to Earth until we can return home.
The President believes that our first research task should be biowells. We are desperately short of food, and the biowell is the only technology that can immediately produce food. Our destination planet, Ynbar-453 also has vast oceans where we can deploy the biowell. Others have said that we should switch to defense immediately after researching biowells. As President, I disagree. There is no evidence of alien lifeforms, hostile or otherwise, on Ynbar-453. The biowell can only support 100 colonists. We must continue researching means of gathering food until we can adequately support all 300 colonists.
As for the Serbian rebel Dalibor, I will make a decision between B and C after receiving Brainbot's response to my above question.
