It seems that the Masters Tournament would really shine this year. Unfortunately for me, I cannot participate in it, but I will follow it when I have some free time to spent. Also, I really like the idea of playing two games at the same time with 48hour phase. Good luck to all who will participate.

Just a thought, Goldfinger. Maybe it's be good to stagger the start of the two games by a week or so? Just so they're a bit out of phase. I know, personally, sending opening press can get a little tedious if you're repeating it for a couple of games.

@Yonni - that's a good idea and I'll consider it. Moreso because opening press can get hectic and opening two games at the same time with these quality (and press-happy) players could be a bit much.

I'll think about changing from 49 to 42. Let me work out a schedule for 42 players and see which format is best. Right now we're sitting at 30 committed and 8 on the fence.

Tourney most likely won't start until February. We're 18 players short (not counting the maybe list). I'm about to go on a big trip, but when I settle down in the UK I'll send out emails and PM's to other qualified players.

Ah good, I was about to bump this up anyways. Sorry about the delay in adding more people, I haven't had much time this week! Anyways, I'll send out emails to another round of players this weekend, and hopefully that will push us up to the 49 we need!

goldfinger, have you given any more thought to the 42 player idea? It makes countries work better, and fewer people means fewer problems.

I just remembered that another reason for the 8th round is so that you can't figure out who everybody is in the last round based on who you haven't played and what powers they haven't played.

Should play the last round as either 2 or 3 games at once that way there is no process of elimination.

If you can come up with a scheme, make it up on an excel spreadsheet and email me on the mod email. I'm trying to come up with one on my own right now using the one I have for 49 players as a basis, and am having some trouble
