Real Politics: Equal civil marriage consultation
Brace yourselves, WebDippers, we have an opportunity to say something that actually matters for a change! (Brits only, sadly). Instead of making the same old arguments to the same old people, why not say something to the government as they consider new legislation?

So the Pope reckons that "Marxism no longer corresponds to reality".

He claims to be the earthly representative of an all-powerful invisble sky wizard. What the fuck does he know about reality?

Thought? Or maybe Positive drug experiences, depending on the music and lit.

I like any coffee, in an attempt not to be too snobby.

But the best coffee, of course, involves the following elements:

1) really good beans (here I buy a local brand Ruta Maya which is organic/fair trade from Mexico)
2) well roasted beans - medium roast
3) use filtered water
4) grind beans yourself - not too fine, not too coarse
5) brew within 5 minutes of grinding
6) use french press brewing
7) use 1/8 cup of grounds for 6 oz of water
8) drink coffee within 2 minutes of making, do not reheat

I enjoy it black before 12PM and cafe au lait with some sugar between noon and midnight - if i am drinking coffee after midnight i am a fool.

When making cafe au lait, heat your milk up in advance, but not too hot - put sugar in cup before pouring liquid - pour equal parts coffee and milk, mixing the streams as it pours in.

fucking good shit.

in terms of what i buy at shops this local coffee shop near me has some strong-ass, fine-ass espresso. potent. I love it.

when i must go to starbucks i receive vanilla lattes - especially iced, since this is texas.

but espressos and vanilla lattes and iced coffee are all great things.

there is nothing like a cup of perfect black though.

i like to mix black coffee with different foods. its great with a bagel and cream cheese. wonderful with a slice of white cake, or with a kit kat.

dude yeah. i love the shit. i love the history of it. i love the caffeine, the culture, all.

it's definitely in the top 5. in fact that's why i'm making this list, because i tell people i love coffee, it's in my top 5 fave things about life and they ask what the others are and im like uhhhh

yeh, I shoulda put in "music" on my list as "lawsuits" and "arguments" are about the same
SacredDigits (102 D)

I used to grind my own beans, pre-kids. Then I used to grind them at the thing in the store until they stopped being fascinated by it. Now I just buy a bag of the Jamaican Blend (which sounds like weed but isn't) and call it a day. I used to love French Press, but these days good old autodrip Mr. Coffee is the way I go.

And if I go to a coffee shop, it must be a peppermint mocha.

REVISED

1. Being productive
2. Coffee
3. Women (I am a crafty mofo, I did this one to roll sex, love, and relationships into one)
4. Fine food
5. Art (esp music, film)
6. Justice (encapsulates morality, doing good, fighting wrong, yay fun)
7. Doing new things (includes travel, education)
8. Positive drug experiences
9. Acknowledgement/Respect
10. Philosophy (includes rhetoric, marvel, thought, logic, and internal recursion)

Hm.

i feel that SD no hate from me on the convenience side, i dont even own a french press just cause im that poor, havent had the money to go for one yet.

but you must admit it is better
SacredDigits (102 D)
28 Mar 12 UTC
Oh, it is certainly better.

I actually have three French press pots, I think. If I go to Cincy, I'll bring you one gratis. It'll probably still smell like Jamaican Blend (which, I swear, is not weed).
Celticfox (100 D(B))
28 Mar 12 UTC
Mmmm eventually I should send out some beans. I work for Starbucks but I don't actually drink coffee. So pounds of it pile up at home. I'll bring some if I do get to go to the F2F in Cinci. Oh and if you like a vanilla latte try it with a lil hazelnut turns it into French Vanilla. SD, I drink a peppermint tuxedo when I do have coffee. It half white and half dark chocolate for yummy goodness.
Celticfox (100 D(B))
28 Mar 12 UTC
Jamaican Blend is probably Blue Mountain coffee.
SacredDigits (102 D)
28 Mar 12 UTC
For some odd reason, I actually don't like white chocolate at all. It tastes awful to me. But hey, that just means more for you.
SacredDigits (102 D)
28 Mar 12 UTC
It is Blue Mountain, but my local store calls it Jamaican Blend, and I like to say that because it sounds like weed and I somehow still have a high school sense of humor.
Thucydides (864 D(B))
28 Mar 12 UTC
lol dude dont worry if it is.

i will still appreciate it.

and believe me celtic i have tried that. i really do like the vanilla lattes though its like home. haha.

but i have to say, starbucks espresso sucks! lol. im not a starbucks hater like some but dang man its not strong! maybe that's just the ones ive been to. idk. i guess if you dont drink it you dont know.

(PS why the fuck dont you drink coffee you better have a good excuse) lol
Celticfox (100 D(B))
28 Mar 12 UTC
Actually the mix turns into a milk chocolate taste. I don't like white chocolate or dark chocolate.

It depends on the store Thucy. You have to keep the machines calibrated and some stores just don't care to. We do.

And cause it makes me 10 kinds of hyper. I'd rather drink tea at home so my body isn't used to that kind fo caffiene since the caffiene in tea reacts differently then coffee does
Thucydides (864 D(B))
28 Mar 12 UTC
Oh well just get addicted like me and youll barely notice it unless you chug two cups problem solved hahaha ha ahahahahah ahahaha yeah man its great it actually calms me down makes me non-hyper actually i drink it before i go to bed ahaha hhahaahaha
SacredDigits (102 D)
28 Mar 12 UTC
From my experience, and I remember reading something about this, Starbucks coffee is more caffeinated than usual...like they actually ADD caffeine to the beans or something. Gives me the jitters, and I'm a regular coffee drinker.
Thucydides (864 D(B))
28 Mar 12 UTC
really? lol i cant remember the last time it noticeably affected me.

the coffee i make at home is nice and strong, maybe thats why i think of it as weak
Celticfox (100 D(B))
28 Mar 12 UTC
I am actually banned from espresso at work I get so hyper. I can drink a gallon of tea, but coffee does me in every time.

Either way my not drinking coffee is my friend and families benefit. I get a free pound a week so I just save it and give it out.
Thucydides (864 D(B))
28 Mar 12 UTC
"I can drink a gallon of tea, but coffee does me in every time. "

And now you know why I don't drink tea. Useless as a Coke. But yeah ok fine. Too hyper is an okay excuse I guess.

You could just water it down. Or should I say milk it down.

Then you can work your way up (or down) into the depths of coffee snobbery.
Celticfox (100 D(B))
28 Mar 12 UTC
I still know a ton about coffee. I'm a coffee master and I have to taste all our coffees once within every 90 days. I really like Kona coffee, but my store doesn't sell it.

I do drink some coffee when I'm exhuasted. Like last saturday I was told to drink some, just not my cup of tea so to speak.
Thucydides (864 D(B))

So... 5. Or so.

1. My relationship with God. (Though, I must confess, it's not first all the time like it should be.)
2. My Mom's lasagna. No earthly words can express the sheer rature that is those perfect noodles with cheese, spices, and other such culinary delights.
3. Playing my guitar. 'Nuff said.
4. Reading. A good (and I mean good.) book is one of the best things. Ever.
5. Hanging out with my friends. My friends rock. Legit. I'm only 19, but I know I'm lucky to have met them.
6. Flying. I absolutely love flying. The best part is take-off. I mean, if you really think about it, it's honestly astounding that such a huge machine can defy gravity, and take to the heavens without much effort on the pilot. That's just insane.
7. Life. In general. Just being alive is without a doubt one of my favorite things.
8. And finally...

Minecraft. Call me a nerd if you want, but all I have to say to that is screw you.( I have two jobs, and a pretty nice tan for this early in the year. And I live in Indiana.) It's Legos. With monsters. And Legos, my fellow diplomats, are AWESOME.

So...yeah. 5. Or so.
Draugnar (0 DX)

No, I didn't. He said top 5 favorite *things*. People are not things. But if you want to go that route then lump all the arts together (music and.literature) and that leaves a spot for family (wife and our "babies", the doxies.)

Those in the human race who are lazy, dishonest, unmotivated, drug addicts, drunks and unreliable want government to be strong so government can provide them a life they would never or could never provide for themselves by their own efforts.
