Oklahoma for Native Americans!
Oklahoma was cursed ever since it was stolen from the Native Americans. All the 'white' and 'brown' and 'black' and 'asian' folks (and any other non-native folks) should pack up and leave to texas or some place else and give it back. What say you?

With KB banhammered, all the nazis being ignored and laughed at rather than engaged and educational material everywhere, the forum has gotten noticabley less toxic and more useless. We need to fix this.

What Defines A New Player?
Hey everyone i was just browsing the new games to see if there were anything interesting that i could join when i stumbled across a game that had the requirement of 'New Players Only' and i was wondering how to make 'New Player' quantifiable. What is the time between you join till you are considered not a 'New Player.' Or in essence are we all new players?

Why it is always German player
That never pushes ready in Gunboat games?
Like every single time if there is a player that saves his orders early on and waits 24 or 36 hours without pressing ready? Is there any rule that you should not slow game down? Or it is up to players if they want to iritate all others by making a retreat in full turn, and then disbanding the same army/fleet just after that in next full turn?

Yes damian.
"Yes, I do. In fact I don't actually believe it, but I think it is the only logical conclusion from a atheist prospective."

This is the most interesting thing that's been said so far.

I think you're wrong here uber. I certainly think there are atheists whose underpinning philosophy necessitates this conclusion, but I don't think that to be a requirement. Elaborate!

I'm going to respectfully disagree. The notion that we can find an objective truth is the entire foundation of science.
c0dyz (100 D)

It appears we have different definitions of truth. What do you define as something that is inherently true, such as: "water is wet" that's the truth right there.
ishirkmywork (1401 D)

while none of you are probably official Nazis, the politics are strikingly similar. So i'm not sure if the label really matters.
Nazis are dumb, and they suck, and are small, destructive, pointless individuals. Think about reevaluating your beliefs.
c0dyz (100 D)
05 Dec 17 UTC
The word Nazi refers to much more. Someone who is blind to the world, attached to their beliefs so closely that they can't see their own wrong.

"The word Nazi refers to much more. Someone who is blind to the world, attached to their beliefs so closely that they can't see their own wrong."

Weren't you just going on about the importance of the truth?
Now you're playing word games and stretching the truthful meaning of a word to serve your ends...
"Think about reevaluating your beliefs." We're not talking about reevaluating beliefs. That concept is baffling and we don't understand it. We're talking about how the travel ban is legal.
ishirkmywork (1401 D)
05 Dec 17 UTC
I'm just giving you the chance, ND. you obviously don't have to, but the things you say here are incorrect and pathetic.
c0dyz (100 D)
05 Dec 17 UTC
President Eden, those words accurately describe the Nazi movement, I'm not stretching anything.
President Eden (2750 D)

Yes, but Nazi is a sub category of individuals who are "blind to the world, attached to their beliefs so closely that they can't see their own wrong." There are a lot of people who fit that description that aren't Nazis.
Using your belief that ND, or anybody for that matter, fits that description to label them a Nazi is creative wordplay, not truth-seeking.

You mention science damian, that's funny. Let me use a commen example of a scientific "fact," gravity.

There is no way to prove that a glass dropped off a table will fall to the floor. You can do it over and over and over and over and over and over and over again. But you will never have made every possible test in order to prove that EVERY time you drop the glass of the table it will fall to the floor, you can always theorize that it will fall up, no matter how many times it falls down. In other words to prove something as fact you must have all the examples, not most, but all. That is impossible. So there are no facts.
damian (675 D)
05 Dec 17 UTC
I have a feeling you know just enough about the scientific process to think thats a slam dunk case.

Science is based around the concept that causation is a real thing an thus we can reasonably draw inferences from an aggregate of data. It is strictly speaking true that nothing can every be definitively proved with science, if new data shows up we re-evaluate based on that data. However the scientific method is predicated on the idea that by assessing the empirical data you can make a reasonable inference of the truth.

I.E. Science only works because its practitioners are working under a philosophical framework that enables them to believe that we can build real knowledge of the world that is objectively true so long as all conditions remain the same
ubercacher16 (283 D)
05 Dec 17 UTC
You admit that nothing could be definitely proven with science. If something cannot be definitely proven then it is not true. It may be almost true. But it is not completely true.

on an unrelated note, join the live game thats up right now let's play some diplomacy.
damian (675 D)
05 Dec 17 UTC
I think you are shifting the goal posts. I've pretty clearly demonstrated that a scientific world view isn't based on the concept of truth being relative.

The philosophical framework behind science means that people who believe science works believe that it is revealing objective facts about the world, even if it is impossible to prove without a shadow of a doubt

The big mistake was trying to take it down entirely based on statute and language of the order, when the only thing that could possibly strike it down was that it was originally enforced by telling visa holders they had to be sent back.
damian (675 D)
05 Dec 17 UTC
You made two statements.
There are no facts - You proved this one is strictly true from a scientific perspective
Truth is relative - You have entirely failed to prove this one is true from a scientific perspective.
ubercacher16 (283 D)
05 Dec 17 UTC
The entire point of truth is relative is that you believe it isn't and that I believe it is. Essentially opinion and truth are synonyms.
damian (675 D)

By default I now loathe your guts. Nothing personal, but post-modernism is a scourge the earth that need to be eliminated from modern discourse.

"The entire point of truth is relative is that you believe it isn't and that I believe it is."
This doesn't mean anything. If we pop outside and you tell me its -10 outside and I said its 10 outside, one of us is correct the other is wrong. The fact that you have the wrong opinion doesn't suddenly invalidate the idea of temperature.
damian (675 D)
05 Dec 17 UTC
There is no point in arguing you with this further, honestly I shouldn't even have sent the last reply. The response you gave is the traditional post-modern dogma. You're a hopeless case.
President Eden (2750 D)
05 Dec 17 UTC

"Essentially opinion and truth are synonyms."
But they aren't... how would they be? Truth in its definition demands a monopoly on fact. There is no room for variations on the same statement of "is."
Opinion occupies the realm where mankind's understanding is limited such that definitive statements of truth cannot yet be made.
ubercacher16 (283 D)
05 Dec 17 UTC
I wish I could explain this to you in person. I would be able to make my case much better.
ubercacher16 (283 D)

There once was a business man who needed a accountant, he had several men come in and asked them all the same question, "what is two plus two?" The first few answered, "four." They were all sent away immediately. Finally a applicant came in and when he was asked the question he replied, "it's whatever you want it to be sir." He got the job.
