Let's calm things down a bit in this thread, please.
As a council member I am announcing that we've decided to make it official policy that a player modkilled in a mafia game without requesting replacement will not be allowed to play in the following game, unless either the GM of that game or the GM of the following game requests otherwise (namely, if they believe there to have been extenuating circumstances or that the modkill was unjustified).
Secondly, while individual GMs could potentially implement auto-hammer for their game, the council will always strongly recommend against it and attempt to get the GM to reconsider. After discussion, we've come to the conclusion that auto-hammer makes timezones, and being able to be online at all hours, far too much of an issue and puts users in unusual timezones or with long work hours at too much of a disadvantage.
Finally, a standard set of rules for post requirements will never be set in stone by the Council, and the GMs can alter these as they wish, although if we think that they are excessively harsh or lax, we will inform the GM of this. In this case, DemonOverlord is implementing a slightly more relaxed version of the participation rules, in which a post requirement is still present but replacement will always be prioritised over modkill, and in the event that replacement is not possible, attempting to get the initial player to continue participation will be prioritised, with modkill being used as a last resort.
