I used to fully embrace your thoughts...but this has become, and forgive the phrase, a site for cupcakes who's frosting has a low melting point, and we are obligated to protect them from the world and give them a safe spave here. That is the specific demand of the site owner and the mods....we are not to offend. Well...actually, it has been up until now, apprently "we are not to offend SOME...while others we are allowed to freely offend". I don't think it's fair, I don't like it, and I'm certain we have lost users because the mods allow SELECTIVE insults and SELECTIVE offensive content. I'm simply seeking to correct that and bring the consistency to the site THEY claim they want.

Literally the FIRST LINE of the rulebook is, "Mods & admins take a relaxed approach to rule enforcement based on mutual respect for other players." Rules exist to set expectations, but the ultimate goal of moderation is not to enforce perfect obedience to every rule at all times, it's to keep the community running smoothly. Reports are a key tool for that, helping the mods identify behavior that is actually disruptive.

With that established, thanks for confirming that you're spamming the mods with pointless reports for every toe over the line you can drag up, and encouraging others to do the same, in a brinksman's game to clog the mod email and get the mods to either ban the community or give up on having community standards. Nope, leon. I'm saying that you're kidding yourself if you think krellin is reporting everything in sight and encouraging other people to flood-report out of anything but spite. The only connection to left and right is krellin's conviction that crybaby lefties have pussified the forum by whining about how anything and everything is offensive, which he uses as an excuse for spamming the mods.

I'm also a bit confused as to why this thread exists anyway, at least to the extent it does. As on the second page krellin talks about how the hard working mod team and how "though frankly I resent the idea that the hard-working mod team should be classified in such a negative light, and I really think that you ought to reconsider your words. The mods work hard...and you throwing insults at them is, frankly, not appreciated." and soon after relays after that the mods did in fact get to his concerns.

Yet..the entire beginning of this thread seemed to be krellin, rather than being understanding and appreciative of the busy schedules of the mods around this time of year, of not only not doing their job, but not doing their job out of bias. Because he is "Very disappointed -- I'm fairly certain I am being ignore/treated unfairly because they dislike me -- I expect better behavior from the mods here."

Which at the very least seems like an insult to me. So, krellin, if you are to be calling others out for hypocrisy, please be wary not to be a hypocrite yourself. More importantly, if you have issues with how the mods are handling your requests, maybe it is better to handle it privately, either by emailing them again or zultar himself, rather than creating a thread that is unlikely to have anything actually constructive with an OP that seems to drag the good name of "hard working" mods through the wood.

Also, I am perfectly fine with krellin choosing to relay his thoughts to the moderators, I am okay with him asking everyone else to do so, but to do so through this thread, which seems to have negative connotations from the start, can do no good.

As such I suggest we all kindly let this thread die and if krellin, or anyone else wishes to discuss this matter with me, to PM me, and keep this private rather than having a giant firestorm on the from page.

Let me rephrase Krellin's argument. We can talk about the merits of his argument, but it is first important that everyone understands what he is trying to say first.

What Krellin is saying is that he feels as though there is an underlying bias in how the rules of the site are being enforced. He is arguing that it is unjust that he has been hit as many times as he has with enforcement action for comments or statements that he has made while he is simultaneously lambasted in the forums by other users who, per Krellin, never receive the types of punishment that he does. He specifically noted jmo for example as a user who is treated with kid gloves, possibly due to favoritism amongst those who moderate the site. He states that this is harmful to his enjoyment of the site.

In other words, the basic thrust of his argument seems to be twofold, firstly that selective enforcement seems to be taking place and secondly that it is causing real damage amongst at least some of the user base.

Now, let me add a bit of commentary on a personal level. I have not felt what Krellin is feeling. I agree with him, in part, that he deserves to be treated as any other user is treated. I am not saying that just because I like Krellin, it applies for all users on the site, including those who I may not get along with. For me though, I do not feel as though I have experienced any selective enforcement. In the only incident that I have had in the last several years, I thought that the mod "ghug" handled it with both class and professionalism. That doesn't mean that he is necessarily wrong though in what he is feeling. You can decide for yourself upon the merits of his argument.

I think that alot of users are basically just seeing this as something that comes with the territory. You know that you do dish it out and hence you get it in return.

Also, remember that there is at least one other user who takes it as much as you do in the forums, Bo_Sox and he is a moderator. I mean, the guy gets shellacked in here, partly because he also dishes it out. Would you honestly say that he has received protective treatment since he is a moderator? Are users not allowed to say anything about him anymore?

@everyone- stop bickering like children. Krellin has a point, there are certain individuals who are bullied out of culture on the site. Krellin is one of them and if he feels that he deserves to be treated fairly than that is his right. Those of you losing your minds about this need to chill the hell out; I doubt anyone will be getting banned if you've been excessively rude to Krellin than expect a warning maybe. But at the end of the day maybe we should all be thinking before we speak. I mean at this point there's a list of players who get treated like crap out of culture:
