Would you say that ISIS is better for Iraq than Saddam? That the civil war in Syria is better? I don't think Saddam was a good guy, or ideal, but things were more stable back then.

Yeah, reminds me of US citizens who din't even know the name 'Assad' a pair of years ago, and now spend a fair amount of time saying things like "oh, Hussein is bad for iraqis, no ISIS is worse, no worst thing would be Assad-Putin chemical weapons...". This just came to my mind as an example.

Guns make it easy for people with mental instability and depression to act on it. Yes, there are other ways to kill and there are other ways to die; and yes, acting on causes and treatment of mental illness is important; but making suicide harder will result in fewer suicides, and it's worth investigating whether that can be done without fucking over gun owners as a whole, instead of simply trying to deflect blame (as gun rights advocates do) or use the issue as a lever for pet gun control legislation (as gun control advocates do).

Meanwhile, gun control legislation is often shit because gun control advocates don't know what gun crime usually looks like (as opposed to what gun crime creates media sensation) and what legislation or enforcement would actually impact gun crime. So eventually it becomes easy for gun rights advocates to dismiss the claim that "more guns means more deaths" because, among other things, it's used as a stalking horse for shit legislation.

The mentally ill actually commit far less crimes than the average.

The pro-gun camp has been asking to access the NICS background check system for private sales for years. It keeps getting blocked because the anti-gun movement doesn't actually want compromise, they want to stall the problem out until they can justify some over-the-top gun control measure.

Vote Gary Johnson. 4 years won't be enough for his bad policies to ruin the country.
