I Need Some Games
It's summer, I'm bored and unemployed, it's not spring anymore so I'm afraid to go outside, and I just bought a bunch of bitcoin that the US seized from Silk Road and I'm gonna go use it on Silk Road 2.0 - irony anyone?

Long story short - who wants to play...

parameter "fromterrID" set to invalid value "17" mean
This came up when I was playing a game as Italy. I tried to convoy an army from Greece to Marseilles ( I had fleets in the Ionian sea, tyrennien sea, and gulf of Lyon ) but when I try to support the convoy into Marseilles from the fleet in the gulf of Lyon it gives me the error parameter "fromterrID" set to invalid value "17". What does this mean and how can I fix this. I need an answer soon since the phase moves on at 5 in the morning pacific standard time

House Majority Leader Eric Cantor LOSES Primary to Tea Party Candidate
http://www.nytimes.com/2014/06/11/us/politics/eric-cantor-loses-gop-primary.html I hate to post two threads in one day, but wow...that's a stunner! He was supposed to be a rising star in the GOP, and reasonably conservative, too...I said back during the Government Shutdown that it was going to hurt moderates more than the Tea Partyers, but WOW...I never thought someone as conservative as Cantor would go. Isolated (if astounding) incident, or indicative of a bigger shift?

What kind of site moderation do we want?
I know that we've had this discussion before. I can't recall what we all preferred, but we have ended up with a mod who sees it as OK to taunt, hound and attempt to out-bully another member. Not only is that likely to bring the site into disrepute but it is borderline criminal in Kestas jurisdiction and could lead to site sanctions. Is this what we want?

I agree with krellin. I have complained about mod abuses. I believe another mod once made that claim and I called him a liar on the forum as well. Stop lying, mods. We know we have contacted you all and krellin about the forum.
jmo1121109 (3812 D)

The only ones he's gotten are a few people saying the forum is over-moderated. All the complains over the past day are about the forum being under-moderated. So no, he hasn't. And he hasn't gotten a single one about maple, despite people posting how appalled they were in his thread. So clearly, people are not emailing him about their concerns. I don't know why.

JMO - if you think that starting a flame war will tilt Kestas and abge into seeing things your way - ie censorship, I think you are sorely mistaken. Whilst maple and others only speak for themselves and can be dealt with by the mute button. If they stray too far into say hate speech or harassment they could face further action via their own country's laws. You on the other hand represent the site which is based in Australia and your threats could undermine the continuance of the site. If you want to have a flame war with maple or anyone else be my guest, but you can't do that and be a mod, choose one or the other.

Also could you advise whether the following would be an acceptable comment when you try redrawing the lines...

I don't care if the Third World fries
It's hotter there I'm not surprised
Baby I can watch whole nations die
And I don't care at all

- Bob Geldof

@Maniac, nope, all I did with my "flame war" was prove that some members aren't happy with what some members are allowed to post. Go read my thread, Kestas is fine with my posts. If you have a problem with that don't take it up with me.

Also, while fairly irreverent, the site isn't hosted in AU.
Yellowjacket (835 D(B))
08 Jun 14 UTC
If the issue is jmo's moderator status and comments, then why is everybody talking about mapleleaf?

Also, even though jmo made a comment that was rather off-color, it's not like this has been a repeat occurrence so problematic that action needs to be taken.

I don't buy it. This is the same tired conversation we've always had.

I want to reveal to you all that I, krellin, have a Superpower. It is the power of *ignore*.

While you lowly slobs out there must avail yourselves of the technological wonder that is the "Mute" button, I must confess that I, krellin, have the Superpower of Ignore.

With that amazing gifts, surely of the gods themselves, I can simply pass over the written word without reading, let alone attempting to comprehend, the psycho babble contained therein.

One maplepoo, recent Villian of the Threads, is one such example of a chap whom, while I occassionally sling my arrows at him, mostly I use my amazing gift of Ignore to simply pass OVER his posts, without nary a word entering my skull.

Amazingly, this gifts is even applicable to the Mods themselves, whom I also freely ignore if and when it pleases me.

I'm not sure if the gods are so giving, but if it is within you, I would pray on bowed knee to the gods themselves that you, too, may be granted the Superpower of Ignore...thus rendering mute meaningless, and your life much more amusing.

Breast wishes, peons.

So long as the mods post within the same rules as everyone else and don't use their powers unjustly or threaten to do so I don't see a problem with a mod who "taunt, hound and attempt to out-bully another member". Now whether any a post should merit sanctions or not I don't know, but when required posts seem to be kept to appropriate topics pretty well, which I think is more important than stamping out any and all offensive posts.
is maple banned yet, if no, why not.

What forum/site rules has mapleleaf broken?

I have seen that thread, I posted in it. Did mapleleaf commit a ban worthy offence in that thread?
Jamiet99uk (808 D)
08 Jun 14 UTC
That is one of the issues up for discussion, surely? What do you think?
Gtlblx (919 D)
08 Jun 14 UTC
I think we shouldn't judge past posts based on new rules that might result from this discussion. I'm not saying the rules should be such that mapleleaf would be allowed to continue posting his drivel, just that he shouldn't be banned for posting within the forum rules of the time.
Jamiet99uk (808 D)
08 Jun 14 UTC
What about this line from the existing site rulebook, then?

"Use common sense and respect other players"
Gtlblx (919 D)
08 Jun 14 UTC
Well that definitely could be grounds to banning him.
Yellowjacket (835 D(B))
09 Jun 14 UTC
"Use common sense and respect other players"

Bah, that's a catchall rule. I don't think mapleleaf has done anything nonsensical, and he wasn't addressing his comments at any player in particular.

I, for one, found jmo's retort more offensive than mapleleaf's OP (not that I'm sure jmo necessarily crossed any line either) and it certainly isn't respectful to call another player a faggot, nor is it common sense for an admin to take that level of "personal interest." Should we ban jmo, then? Take away his admin powers? Whip him through the streets of Webdipstan? Of course not, don't be ridiculous.

It's just two people irritated at each other - that tends to get ugly online. End of story.

A live game has been paused due to Russia's impending absence, I was wondering if it doesn't start back up as a live game (as paused live games often never do) could a mod change it to a different time per phase so that the game could continue

The Favorite Author Tournament: The Sweet 16
Into Round 3 we go, with Team Virgil once again eking out a victory to move on...will it happen again? Will Rowling or Woolf be able to keep busting through that glass ceiling and move on as the only two female authors left? Will Asimov continue to keep the hopes of fans alive, as after a glut of sci-fi writers to start, he's the last one standing? Will Thucy drop the "vote 12 times per turn" thing now that Thoreau and Laozi have gone the way of Shakespeare? 16 enter, 8 move on!

What to do with a bent splint (right word?) in my mouth?
I already called the dentist and I'm going there tomorrow morning since earlier is impossible, but meanwhile I was wondering if there's something I can do to make it less damaging. The thing is that it's very much irritating the flesh around the teeth, as well as presumably pulling my teeth out of position. Can anyone think of a fix?
