How do I join a game with a password
One of the first games I ever played on here was cancelled due to multi the Mod told me it was less likely to happen if I joined a game with a password. How do I go about doing so? If I don't know anyone yet, how do I get the password? I think I am starting to panic!

Pretty much what the title says. A player got banned for cheating and I'd really like to see this game progress. Any help would be much appreciated!

Weed: Exactly how bad is it?
Personally, I think that if alcohol is legal under certain limitations, why can't marijuana be legal under the same limits? Marijuana is as safe if not safer than alcohol, so why not? Two states have come to their senses. How many more will follow suit?

Game Canceled due to Cheating
I just logged on to one of the games I was playing and it said it was going to be cancelled due to one of the players cheating. The player was losing and almost eliminated in this game. So why cancel it? It was a very fun game. Other players where active and fighting until the end.

Is there a way to not cancel it?

President Eden (2750 D)

you seem to be under the impression that being obtuse is a good thing

it isn't

any solution with a square root in it, including your solution for 8, is invalid if we are not allowed to add numbers, because taking the square root adds a 2 -- sqrt(x) = x^(1/2)
ssorenn (0 DX)
23 Feb 14 UTC
this symbol √ has an implied 2,but to change it to cubed the symbol is the same but you must write the 3 on top
Draugnar (0 DX)
23 Feb 14 UTC
It also equals x^.5 so? I accept that the root symbol means square root unless the 3 or other number is written. You are just being thick to insist what you are.
ssorenn (0 DX)
23 Feb 14 UTC
go read the weed thing in the forum and relax
none of that changes the fact that you have to add a number to use the square root function, which violates one of the original rules
ssorenn (0 DX)
23 Feb 14 UTC
@PE if you no like the game then you no play,,,
I think this game is pretty interesting, but you're breaking your own rules to get a solution and then insisting you aren't, which is obnoxious regardless of what game is being played
jmo1121109 (3812 D)
23 Feb 14 UTC
@PE, a symbol is not a number, now a symbol can represent a number but it isn't inherently one.
ssorenn (0 DX)
23 Feb 14 UTC
you are entitled to your opinion....you happen to be the only one,and you are still wrong
Draugnar (0 DX)

Could a mod silence PE until he is sober again?
ssorenn (0 DX)
23 Feb 14 UTC
if he's drinking and not sharing,i call bullshit.....you must bring some for everyone in the class
@jmo -- the symbol is another way of saying x^0.5 (or x^(1/2) or whatever) -- at the end of the day it makes no sense to rule out cube roots but not square roots or inversions, all of these add numbers
@ssorenn -- Actually uclabb made the same point I'm making earlier, so I'm not the only one, and you haven't demonstrated anything wrong with my logic, just continued to insist it's incorrect without explanation
@Draugnar -- I'm completely sober, you of all people have no place to be complaining about people being rule-sticklers
ssorenn (0 DX)
23 Feb 14 UTC
@PE the square root symbol when used in math has a 2 above it, you are right. When written without the 2, the same math process will be executed by everyone you could ask to do it.(because it is implied) A cubed root requires the same symbol, but without prompting the equation with a 3 the square would happen. So my statement about not adding a number is true, because it is implied. To be a cubed root you have to write the three. There is no other way

∛ - i was going to say it doesn't exist, but it's in the unicode tables... along with ∜ ∝ ∞ ∃ ∀ ∄ ∫ ⊂ ⊆ ∴ ∼ ∘ (among others)

None of these are 'number' characters which our base 10 system uses.

Also '' 0/0*0=6 ''
PEMDAS applies to 8th grade maths, as per the rules, that means multiplication comes before division, so this is (0 / (0 * 0) ) = (0 / 0) ~ which clearly equals 1 :)

PE is so right it's ridiculous. If you are just going to allow arbitrary functions if they "don't have a number in them when I write them", here is a solution for all x:
S(S(S(S(S(S((x - x)/x)))))))
where S is the successor function. That's standard notation. There you go, I solved all of them at once!
is there no 'a' in the expression 'laugh out loud' because you can alternatively say it as 'lol' and everyone will understand what you mean?

that's the equivalent argument you're making and it doesn't make sense
uclabb (589 D)

here is another solution using trigonometric functions for arbitrary x:

sec(tan^(-1)(sec(tan^(-1)... repeated 36 times ... (x - x)/x)))))))))))))...))))

Pedants and children...

But I like uclabb's universal solutions.
Draugnar (0 DX)
24 Feb 14 UTC
What if we looked at solutions using integration between limits where the equation had n, and the limit was n to n? Thoughts? Let's get away from the pedantry, k?
I'm going to stay away from the cheap shots here and insist on my original position -- there is nothing pedantic about expecting rules that minimize arbitrariness.
Draugnar (0 DX)
24 Feb 14 UTC
It was a fun light hearted exercise. Let it go. I was the original one who presented using the cube roots on 8 after seeing the square root of 4 and realizing that worked for 9 as well. I let it go. Can't you do the same?

Can't we all just get along?
ssorenn (0 DX)

If you no like, don't play in the playground
Draugnar (0 DX)
24 Feb 14 UTC
We should try to find a solution for every three digit combination. For instance 6 6 5 would be (6*6)^.5)
S(S(S(S(S(S((x - x)/x)))))))

done

Here's a question for non-religious people
If I could get away with the murder of a someone who is clearly and obviously guilty of very bad acts (and likely to commit more very bad acts in the future) but untouchable by the legal system of this world, why shouldn't I do it?

Iron man suits will exist soon
This is mind blowing to me. Obviously its not the same as Iron mans suit but the idea of it is getting close. I can't imagine what one of those babies would cost. It would however greatly increase Special Ops abilities.

Government vs. Gays heating up
http://www.nytimes.com/2014/02/22/us/religious-right-in-arizona-cheers-bill-allowing-businesses-to-refuse-to-serve-gays.html

Should a baker be legally allowed to cite religious reasons for refusing to bake a cake for a gay wedding? Does the religious comfort (freedom is pushing it) of individuals outweigh the marginalizing effect this has on a select part of the population?

The Emerald Tablets of Thoth
Has anyone ever heard of these? Apparently they are a big thing but throughout all of my readings they have never popped up once. For such a big deal there is little to no proof that they exist.

If you've never heard of them I would recommend looking them up because if they are real it's pretty eye opening.
