Webdiplomacy interface preventing legal move to Sevastapol from Armenia via land.
In a game I am currently in, the web diplomacy interface is not allowing me to order a Turkish Army to move via land into Sevastapol. When I try to select this order it states, "viaConvoy parameter set to invalid value No" Is this a known error? While I know that it would be unreasonable for me to expect an immediate fix for this error, I would greatly appreciate it if

Panic--Unable to issue orders
I've tried to save/ready orders from IE8, Firefox, and Chrome on my windows 7 machine (from which up until now I've been able to) and the page just seems to hang even if I leave it for ~5 mins. Same result from Firefox and Chrome on my Ubuntu machine.Obviously I can post messages so I don't know what's going on...Anybody have ideas to help?

Live, but not at such a frantic pace
I have often wanted to play live, but not at such a frantic pace as five minute turns. Doesn't leave much time for diplomacy.
I wonder if there are others who would like to "play live" for a couple hours and then finish up on a 12 hour or 24 hour schedule.
Has anyone suggested that before? Is there a list of players somewhere who are interested in such an arrangement?

150cc, A Live Diplomacy Club?
Hey world. I'm throwing this up here to open up discussion between the members of the game 150, where we considered starting up a set of live games. I'll PM you all soon to suggest you wander over here.

Thanks, I don't have time to go into details now. But other then Sarg's write up of what we are I have a number of ideas for stuff to put onto our page. That I'll try and run by you guys this weekend when I'm less busy.

However I was wondering if there was anything that members of the club wanted to see on our page?
TheGhostmaker (1545 D)

Game links perhaps?
Complete with EOG statements, perhaps. It would be cool to read through the EOGs.

gramilaj (100 D)
08 Apr 11 UTC
The easy way to do that would just to put EOGs in the Global Chat box. Wouldn't work for gunboats though...
gramilaj (100 D)

Though I would like some clarification on this point, it seems like not all the members are into gunboats. Is that something the club is about, or should I avoid putting GB games here?
damian (675 D)

I believe the conclusion that we reached is that there was no issue advertising or running gunboats as part of 150cc.

To add onto that I'd say that I will probably split the chart of how people are performing into Gunboat and Press.

Okay, so I had a number of ideas however I don't have much time right now so I figure we'd start with just one of them.

First off game links, I'm in favour of them and the general consensus seems to be that people like that idea.

Second I was thinking of putting the list of members up onto our page along with how they have performed in each 150cc game they played in, in addition to this I was considering doing a yearly running tally, to find out top three players in that year, and putting their names up as a little bit of recognition.

My initial idea for how to determine who our top three are was a point system of sorts.

Each win: Gives you 14 D
2 way draw: Each player sharing in the draw gets 6 D
3 way draw: Each player sharing in the draw gets 5 D
4 way draw: Each player sharing in the draw gets 4 D
5 way draw: Each player sharing in the draw gets 3 D
6 way draw: Each player sharing in the draw gets 2 D
7 way draw: Each player sharing in the draw gets 1 point
Defeated: If you are defeated you lose 1 D

Or something like that.

It this something you'd be in favour of?

(points) just equals some form of measuring, tokens of sort.
Draugnar (0 DX)
08 Apr 11 UTC
Well considering 3 3-way or 4 4- way draws are worth more than a win... something is wrong with the points.
Draugnar (0 DX)
08 Apr 11 UTC
But I like the idea of some measurement system. Maybe make the win 18 D.
gramilaj (100 D)
08 Apr 11 UTC
Augh, I hate this scoring system, it encourages stalemate line play. And surely the player with 17 centers should get more than the player sitting on only Stp in a 3 way? If it's really the system you want to go for, I think a win should be worth 36 D. Force people to prevent a solo.
gramilaj (100 D)
08 Apr 11 UTC
Also, would it be a good idea to have a cap for the number of scores that count? Like, you only take you best 5 scores over a year, otherwise it might just be the top participators in the top 3, not necessarily the best players.
Draugnar (0 DX)
09 Apr 11 UTC
What about a point for each SC you hold in a draw but a solo gets all 34. Then a 17 SC nation gets 17 D even if he draws, but the full 34 if he wins and the others who stop the solo get their SC value if they succeed but nothing if they fail.

I would be down for next wed....
gramilaj (100 D)
09 Apr 11 UTC
I personally like a combination of those two scoring systems. 34 point pot based on draw, and a 34 point pot per SC, that means people get rewarded for slimming down the draw and grabbing centers.
damian (675 D)
09 Apr 11 UTC
I am strongly opposed to giving points out per center in a draw. The person who ended in a draw with 1 center performed admirably to do so and deserves a full share.

I guess taking the top five scores would probably be the most apt way to do it as opposed to just handing out points to avoid it being those who participate the most.

As for stalemate play. That is how I personally play, and I am of the belief that the small centers in the draw probably played BETTER then the big powers in a purely diplomatic sense.

Erm, yeah I want wins to be worth a good bit, but not so much that managing a few draws means you can't catch up to them.

Actually I doubt we'll ever agree on a scoring system. >.>
gramilaj (100 D)
09 Apr 11 UTC
Right, so let's do a combination of scoring systems! :-)
damian (675 D)
09 Apr 11 UTC
Or we could just not do one with points and scores and stuff and just rank by numbers of solos then number of draws as a tie breaker, with quality of draws being a third tie breaker.

Draugnar (0 DX)
09 Apr 11 UTC
But quality is subjective. Some small participants in a draw earned it, others just barely clung to life because the active players just couldn't spare the units to kill them off.
Draugnar (0 DX)
09 Apr 11 UTC
What about a simple 7 D for a win, 1 for a draw, and -1 for an elimination?
damian (675 D)
09 Apr 11 UTC
Quality of the draw being number of players in. For example if I had won four games and been part of a four way draw, and another person had won four games and been part of a two way draw, they would be ranked higher then me.

Though I guess that could sort of work too. I just didn't want to make a seven way draw equal to a two way draw.
"Right, so let's do a combination of scoring systems! :-) "

The simplest combination of PPSC and WTA I can think of is:
- A win gives you 100% of the points.
- In a draw, you get points based on centers.

It does not encourage play for strong second, but it does reward players with more centers. In fact, I think this is the most valid option.

Hey guys. Just wanted to let you know a whole ton of crap has come up this week so I'll be exceedingly slow getting back to PMs and Emails, and won't be able to help set up games.

If you need to contact a 150cc official during this time in a timely manner, I believe Sarg would be willing to help you as one of our Lieutenants.

Thanks for your understanding, sincerely

Great! I assume full-press is the preference? Gunboat would make me happy but full-press is fine as well.

What time will you all be ready to play? I would probably prefer a start between 8 and 9 EDT.
