I'm already on the list, but I'm up to gr 89 on the January list. Seems like December was a pretty good month for most people interested in this tournament.

I would be interested if it goes to 48 hour phases. My January GR was 114.

To be slightly nit-picky, would it be more appropriate to use the WTA 24hr+ full-press rankings for this? Selfishly it improves my standing against these opponents. But it also helps for real comparability. And, if you are using GR as a cut-off I assume you want the highest level of competition available.

I suppose you're right Lando. It improves mine too, but I didn't want to exclude gunboat players from feeling welcome as well.

Also, who wants to be the one to ask Dejan to join...he took no prisoners last time.

Goldfinger: I know Dejan is not available but I don't know for how long. I guess it all depends when TheMasters start. I'm pretty sure he would want to play but he will most probably answer for himself. I know he visits the site every once in a while still.

What about 42 players where you play one person twice in a seven game tournament, rather than 49 players and playing one great power twice in an eight game tournament?

agreed^ playing 1 power twice is more skewed than playing another player twice.

Yeah, especially if it's anon games. Because then ideally you don't have even know and probably won't figure out you're playing the same person twice.
