@nightlord, I agree with you, but to answer the question at the start of this topic.
Americans prevent anti-americanism to be similar to fear of other countries. In the rest of the world Americans' image is that they tend to think they're better in - next to - all ways, though a lot of non-Americans disagree. Due to the international nature of your country, this is viewed by many nationalistic Americans as anti-Americanism. G.W. Bush saying, "either you're with us, or you're with the terrorists" fueled this thought in some parts of the country. Unfortunately, in times of low economic growth or economic decline, such voices are the loudest.
So: if you think there's a lot of anti-Americanism or hate other countries, you're probably nationalistic.
Furthermore, America's sense of 'superiority' allows for imperialism - complete with colonies/sattelite states and intervening with foreign governments etc. - something the most Western-European countries unwillingly abolished at the end of WWII.
I really hope Libya/Egypt/Tunisia won't go along this path. If there people feel best represented by a Muslim-party, please let those people guide the country - though I fear a "mystical" disappearance of their leaders or an "unexpected" loss in the elections.
