Thanks for the reminders not to lurk, all. I wasn't planning to lurk -- just pointing out that I would have a hard time giving much *direction* to my posts for awhile. As soon as I clapped eyes on Jefferson Village, I knew the wagon train was at an end for me, and I'd found where I wanted to spend the rest of my (hopefully long) life; but I've still only been here for two years, so I'm a relative newcomer, and I don't feel comfortable taking over in a meeting like this.
There's been a lot of discussion so far about the import of "color." I have a hard time seeing that it makes much difference either way. I use it as a townie, and I'd probably try to use it as Mafia too, to be honest. If anything, the main thing that might lend importance to it is that some people ATTACH importance to it, so that using it comes with preconceived interpretation. But I don't much understand the analysis that makes people think that it is or isn't a sign of guilt, so until I do, I'm just going to keep using it when it's fun and I have time, and not putting too much weight on somebody else's use of it, unless they slip up somehow.
Incidentally, does anybody else think that YJ and PE did a pretty impressive job of obscuring the fact that they were both mafia last time? I do.
