Perhaps I'm misrepresenting myself. My issue is that people can have informative conversations about topics that others find off-putting. Because of that, I'd hate for the line to be drawn at the level of what is ok for children to see.

Concerning future rules, it's my opinion that if a thread serves no purpose other than to incite, then the creator of that post should be warned, silenced for a determined amount of time, and then banned if they do it again.

re: people being turned away from the site. BULLSHIT. It is *complete* and utter bullshit to say that this site is harmed by the forum as is, unless you can demonstrate otherwise. It may very well be that this site, by having an open and sometimes offensive forum, actually draws *intellectually capable* users in who are capable of distinguishing the fact that with true open discussion comes the obvious negatives....but that those negatives are oft-times counteracted by the sometimes amazing discussions that we have here about anything any everything.

This whole situation was me making a point to members, abge, and Kestas alike. I needed the point to be clear and obvious to everyone, which I think it has been.

The point was simple. Not everyone is happy with how members and mods alike are allowed to post on the forum. Yet no one has ever told Kestas this. So now that we've established there are concerns, I'm expecting people to participate in the thread asking for feedback on this issue for Kestas's review.
