Live and Let Live
I was typing a brief response to the post below about being 'trans' when I refreshed and found that the thread was locked. It was locked with a really great post from Jmo, so thanks for that. The video itself wasn't really that funny or clever, and was laughing at not with, without any sense of awareness; but I take it that that video is a closed issue, so I just wanted to add:

MAFIA XI: A Whisper In My Ghost

I've justified my vote, TrPrado posted a scumread on you too. The other two literally have no reason that they've shared, which is concerning
guak (3381 D)
13 Aug 15 UTC
By the way to clarify, my reads list at this point is:

TrPrado: SCUM MAFIA HACKER MASTERMIND or whatever. Read case above.
Balki: Scum sidekick, less certain of this, definitely dependent of a TrPrado scum flip. Worth exploring with more detail further along.

DL: town. He slipped in p1 when he stated a definitely pro-town strategy that mafia would had never ever dared to mention with his proposal of town fakeclaiming cop. This is actually an excellent town strategy if the real cop manages to avoid claiming because mafia is forced to NK the cop-claimer to see if it is true or not and can thus help protect real cop for one more night. Of course, mafia are also likely to claim cop before dying, but town would lynch them the next day without a doubt.
Espi: town. I can attribute all of his scumminess to him being a noob. I see a lot of Slyguy and other noobs and not enough of goldfinger. New players drawing mafia usually thrust them directly into the center of attention (whether with scummy actions or good town play) because noobs relish the opportunity to manipulate others. Espi has not been trying to manipulate others, thus I think he is town. This is not as hard a town read as my read on DL.

Everyone else: I don't see enough either way to rule for now. Once more info is known will recheck the rest for scumminess
Espi (338 D)
13 Aug 15 UTC
Screw it, I want to see what comes out of the guak and Tr debate ##VOTE TrPrado. Please note that this is not simply because I fully believe guaks argument about Tr, but in my Summary back on page 11, Tr was someone I keep finding as someone to look more into. Hopefully my added pressure (bringing him 1 vote under guak and myself) might help with my curiosity.
TrPrado (461 D)
13 Aug 15 UTC
Espi: Up to now, you've had a townread on me, and have very heavily refused to say anything else, where did that change?
TrPrado (461 D)
13 Aug 15 UTC
guak: Townslips can be faked, so that notion is actually dumb.
guak (3381 D)
13 Aug 15 UTC
@bo: luckily having been targeted by a wagon and knowing my own allegiance I have more info than I would normally have D1. Since I am usually lurking D1 and no one really cares about me, this had never happened before. Also the 50% on Balki depends on Tr flipping scum so it is actually 32.5%.

@ND: The link is tenuous right now, but it is an interesting possibility. What raised my eyes here is how they each town read each other based on complete bullshit. Meaning that the reasons they gave for townreading each other were in both cases manipulated with rose-tinted glasses to make random events look like they were towntells. That is the strongest piece of evidence here, though the way they have distance themselves from each other is also classic mafia.
guak (3381 D)
13 Aug 15 UTC
@Tr: yes, they can be faked. But why would mafia come out and help town in p1? It is too much of a risk. It can be revisited at some point in the future, but I am fairly certain DL will be NKd before then. If he continues to survive until close to endgame, then that may make him suspicious again. For now, he is strongly entrenched as town.
Espi (338 D)
13 Aug 15 UTC
My reading of you was "3. - TrPrado - leading the conversation so far with you ND, I worry about the 2 of you both being scum but am enjoying his analysis so far, slight town."

So far, I can attribute you and DL with staying in the background a lot more then others while also appearing visible. I am not fully convinced on BB but I could easily replace the connection I saw with you and ND with you and BB.

In my summary, I mentioned your voting for the least reasons (which you attributed to other stuff later on, policy voting and some joking if I recall). You and BB have an interesting dynamic but also feel I am more innocent then BB, this could be you just having that feeling or wanting to play a counter balance. I still read you as slight town, but feel this might be a good chance to push my opinion on you one way or the other.

I am not fully convinced with guaks argument about DL being town, but he could be right.
Espi (338 D)
13 Aug 15 UTC
@guak what is your opinion of Tr back on page 10 when he mentions not really reading BB's case on me, does that support your theory?
guak (3381 D)
13 Aug 15 UTC
It does, actually, a mafia man would probably skip reading his mafia buddy's posts
DeathLlama8 (514 D)
13 Aug 15 UTC
"If he continues to survive until close to endgame, then that may make him suspicious again" Fair enough.

So far out of our current lynch candidates, I'd go Guak > Espi > Prado. I wouldn't object to a Slacker wagon popping up, though, since he thinks he's useless (hasn't done too much either) and also kinda scummy.
TrPrado (461 D)
13 Aug 15 UTC
Also to guak before my reads come out: You said that lynching you would provide some good info. I hardly see that as a reason for any of us to back off. Doesn't town want to GET good info? So wouldn't that mean it's better for us to lynch you?
DeathLlama8 (514 D)
13 Aug 15 UTC
@Espi - What do you make of Yoyoyozo?
bo_sox48 (5202 DMod(G))
13 Aug 15 UTC
@Yoyo … " For those that complained about my strategy early game, I was just trying to get everyone talking more so I had something to go from."

That's bullshit, but congrats. Now let's see you contribute. No more of you deciding "to roll with it." Get in on the discussion. You'll be out of school and able to sit down and do that closer to the deadline, am I right?

@guak … in your read on Espi, you say you see a lot of Slyguy and others, but not much goldfinger. Why? You were partners with goldfinger (and for far longer than I was), so you ought to be able to give some fairly detailed behind-the-scenes analysis on his play and how we basically held him back and told him to lay low. Can you explain what's different, particularly between him and Espi?

As for your response to me, I think it's unfair to say that no one has ever cared about you on D1. You were the center of attention when we were mafia together but only because you led the charge against me, not because you were a target. In that instance, it was with 100% certainty that I was scum, obviously. Anyway, you don't have to be on the chopping block to be the center of attention, you know, so assuming for the moment that Tr is lynched and flips scum, how do I know you're not bussing again? After all, hasn't he done to you some of the same things I did, tunneling on you all day and providing that easy link for anyone that really looks for it?

@Espi … votes are real at this point. We have under 3 and a half hours. They're not for pressure anymore. If you're voting Tr, do it for some other reason than to save yourself and because you want to exercise your own curiosity.

@TrPrado … would you propose fakeclaiming cop as town right off the bat if you were mafia? I wouldn't. I agree with guak on that point and await your response.
DeathLlama8 (514 D)
13 Aug 15 UTC
So it appears that Yoyo has done literally nothing of note since making his rather large "Espi is definitely town" post - a few jokeposts about getting a beer with Espi and a comment on how the game has finally gotten going, again, ON PAGE F***ING TWENTY.

"Im glad that the game finally took off. For those that complained about my strategy early game, I was just trying to get everyone talking more so I had something to go from. The first 5 pages is contaminated with joke posts so my prime objective was to stir discussion. Since Espi was a topic of discussion most of the time, I decided to roll with it. I'm I still don't think he's scum and I will reread guak."

1. Interested to see your reread.
2. On what pages were you trying to stir up discussion?
3. If it was the first 45 minutes you were here, how did you do that?
guak (3381 D)
13 Aug 15 UTC
@bo: you are right in almost all of your analysis. Only thing were you are wrong is about me being the center of attention in that game, I never garnered suspicion myself. I have been active in a couple of other games early on, but never been a leading vote getter on D1, and that is why I am saying I have more info this game than in others. The analysis about me being scum is very good though, and if you think that is the case, then you should definitely be voting TrPrado. to see if that is a possibility. I can tell you that this time I am town and that I do not care at all if I am killed. So that should be a good enough difference from the other game. But I certainly agree with you that I would in no way be towncleared when Tr flips scum.

Regarding the goldfinger question, I think there is a huge difference between clear scum slips and noob scum slips. Espi is different from goldie because his so-called scum slips have been all over the place and very random without having a clear purpose, while goldie's scumslips were all clearly favorable proposals or actions for the mafia team.

@Tr: you do whatever you want, I don't care if I get lynched. You don't see me begging people to stop voting for me.

Espi (338 D)
13 Aug 15 UTC
@DL, Yoyo is another one that I suspected early on, but as time goes on I am finding less ground for my suspecting him. I hope to apply more pressure on him later on, but think that Tr might be a better choice for now.

Yoyo has made a few weird posts, on page 10 bringing up not fooling around, my having a poor response to BB's original post but still trusting me, Trs claim on 4 that Yoyo doesn't seem scummy yet, being annoyed on page 3 when I took a while to get back to him, asking simple questions back on page 1. as well as later posts (read DL on this) I think I might see his point, but that can come later.

@bo I know that votes are real, but I think that they are still for pressure. These last few hours, with the pressure on, might hold some key info later on. If I wanted to save myself, I would vote guak (as I have mentioned before until being told that the mentioning of that was scummy) have I done that yet? No! Don't completely downplay my actions, I am trying to contribute in some way before this day is over.

Why did Lucland only answer questions people posed to him during his reread, instead of, you know, looking for scum?
DeathLlama8 (514 D)
13 Aug 15 UTC
O rly?

"I feel that ND, Tr, Yoyo and Balki are trying to lead things more which is why I am trusting them for now. They also appear to be asking for more explanations in their questions while also being as clear as possible." (pg6)

"Yoyo is another one that I suspected early on" (pg21)

Please explain when you suspected Yoyo @Espi
Espi (338 D)
13 Aug 15 UTC
Lucland and slacker are the 2 new people that aren't doing much DL, but they never seem to fully respond to questions right now. I think going after bigger targets and letting them suffer without 'skilled' people might be more useful at this point if they are Mafia, if they are town, I hope they begin to work a lot more on helping.

@all I am surprised no one mentioned my joining in with guak and what that might say for a 'Mafia' member when earlier I was being read as trying to lead the Mafia.
Espi (338 D)
13 Aug 15 UTC
@DL remember when I said I wasn't going to say my claims until I thought they would help, I have been trying to get closer to some of those I wasn't so sure on. ND, BB and Yoyo. A few reads on me have mentioned this. My pg 11 summary also mentions my understanding of those pages and mentions Yoyo a lot.

Just because I suspected, didn't mean I fully posted.
bo_sox48 (5202 DMod(G))

Americaslacker analysis:

Since we haven't been able to get a whole lot of a read on him, here's my shot at it. He has only made a few posts thus far. I'm not sure if he reached five and stopped intentionally or if he simply didn't have the chance to post more.

First things first, anchoring.

Page 15 - first post, says he has read through page 6.
Page 16 - says he has been reading for four hours.

He also declared himself the village idiot.

Page 16 - "Also sorry but more or less I will be the village idiot it all seems you are all very smart and can piece all of this shit together much better as I can."
Page 16 - "Also since I am not completely sure how this game is played on here I will ask a question."

To be fair, this matches his "webdip has a interesting version of mafia" line earlier on page 16.

16 - "yes I did hit the newb card because I am one."

16 - "I would say im the village idiot because i have no idea what im doing and in some olden time towns idiots got hung because of their idiotic antics and pure stupidity"

Fear of getting lynched, but reasonably so.

Proposed a "town meeting":

Page 16 - "This might be a completely wrong thing to do but I would like to see how it would work out. ** a town meeting was called for laws on gun control, what would y'all's thoughts be if guns would be banned in our 21st century town"

I wouldn't mind some explanation from him on this. It's an idea I haven't encountered before and could be a way for people to organize their thoughts on certain issues/players en masse. That said, I don't get what he means by gun control and banning guns.

16 - "I bring up a fictional meeting because one i dont know how exactly these games are played and 2 it might bring out opinions that might be biased towards what the townsfolk want and what the mafia people want"

Read on Espi:

Page 16 - "we have to either kill or ignore Espi it's that clear he is not helping he is hindering"

Goes on to explain that he would prefer to ignore him, but also makes clear that he is open to voting for him.

16 - "He's scum because he is distracting, he is not letting light be shined on others"

Why ignore someone if you're sure they're scum? Why not pressure them?

16 - "I did read the whole thing I wouldn't need evidence all of you provided it against him and he never did the greatest job of protecting himself"

Doesn't want to make his own case against Espi. Claims he read the whole thread, which makes sense if he took four hours to do so.

16 - "I'm not trying to be lazy I'm just saying maybe we should interrogate someone as much as him before we hang anyone."

Self explanatory.

16 - "I feel there is something fishy with yoyo."
17 - "but i have a fishy feeling that yoyo is partners with him"

Scumreads Yoyo. Townread BB shortly before. No justification on his scumread. Not sure who "him" refers to - in context, maybe SS? Maybe you can clarify, america.

Votes guak without explanation at the bottom of page 17.

CONCLUSION:

He plays like a ridiculously misguided and nooby player regardless of alignment. Obviously, he displays scummy behavior - anchoring, dumbtelling, etc., and the vote without any kind of justification all while going against voting for his two (or three, can't tell) scumreads. He doesn't explain his reason for suspecting Yoyo either, though, so I don't know that there is a ton to read into that other than that he is clueless at this stage. I don't think he is an adequate lynch candidate for today simply because the amount of information his lynch would give us is close to absolutely nothing, though he will be one to watch in the coming days to see whether he develops from straight up noob into noob townie or noob scum.

Let's try a ##VOTE LUCLAND. Needs pressuring, that's for sure. Will compile a list of questions below.
Espi (338 D)
13 Aug 15 UTC
Well, with DL's vote, I am no longer tied with guak for a lynch, I am the #1 lynch with guak and Tr right below me with 3.

@DL, I keep flip-flopping on you as well. As soon as I think you are town you do something that I view as more random which makes me think you are scum. Why did you just vote for someone that isn't even on to pressure, and why did you vote for him before he answered your questions? This looks like a disguise for trying to hop off of the guak train, just after he makes a point that he doesn't think you are scum.
DeathLlama8 (514 D)
13 Aug 15 UTC
1. please explain your reads in more depth.
2. Why is guak scummy?
3. Why did you only answer questions people posed to him during his reread, instead of, you know, looking for scum?
Espi (338 D)
13 Aug 15 UTC
Also @DL "7. - Yoyoyozo - I like a lot of the points that you make, but also feel that you aren't being that proactive and are mostly reacting to others comments toward you, slight scum." back on page 11.
DeathLlama8 (514 D)
13 Aug 15 UTC
He came back and answered questions - just not mine, which he should've seen. And when he came back to contribute, all he did during his reread was answer questions. Why isn't he trying at all to look for scum? Is it because he knows who they are?

@guak … that's the thing, you weren't the center of attention based on suspicion but because you led the charge against three mafia. You played brilliantly that game; that's my entire point, and I told you so then. You were the center of attention but not the center of suspicion. I think you even got a PR lynched, didn't you, or is my memory failing me? I'll reread that game in the coming days.

I'm not terribly sure about a couple of facets of your case against TrPrado, but I'm going to let him respond to that and try to observe more than anything. If it gets closer to the deadline and I still have those questions, I'll ask them, but for now, I'll stand firm. I don't like the idea of voting for TrPrado to make up my mind on you, though if he gets lynched, I'll be looking your way regardless of the flip, just from a different mindset.

As for goldie/Espi, I don't think you're wrong, but I hope that you stay vigilant on him despite your early instinct. Remember how you trained goldie? I am always looking for improvement out of new players, but he could always get trained to do exactly the type of things that goldie did. I'm inclined to agree, though, that there's a difference between the two early on.

You said earlier that you were afraid you were gonna get NKed tonight if you survive the day, which, iirc, wasn't even a question at that point. Why?

@Espi … fair. If you're going to be around toward the deadline, you can obviously give yourself a little bit more time, no doubt. I just don't want to see town votes go to waste, so just be sure you're around.
