Possible Multi account?
I don't think it is right to post the game id, but in one of my games, each player in the ancient med is attacking me. I tried to contact all of them separately 3 times each, and they haven't responded. If that's not enough, they all have the same name, and are logged on at the same time. Thanks!

Favorite Sports Moments
Just a fun little topic...give a few of your favorite sporting moments you've watched or, if you're lucky enough to have actually played, played in your lifetime.
The moments that are just sheer euphoria...and possibly can be YouTubed so we can see how awesome it was (particularly intersted in what our European friends have to say, since I don't know any of those leagues or moments...) :D

One of my first football games I ever watched was the 1990 Germany-Holland game in the European Cup. It's a game etched in German and Dutch memories.

Why? Because Frank Rijkaard, a Dutch player, spat at Rudi Völler, leading to both the culprit and the victim being sent off with a red card.

As a ten-year old, I was full of righteous anger against what I felt was a blatantly unfair decision, considering that Rijkaard had done the spitting.

Etched into my memory. And this incident is one reason why the German-Dutch football rivalry is so intense. Next to of course, we Dutch and Germans being way too similar to not have a football rivalry. :)

As for euphoric... Hm, a last minute goal against Poland in the '06 WC felt pretty good. I was amidst the public viewing crowd between the Brandenburg Gate and the Siegessäule. The place went bonkers...

This year, trashing Argentina 4-0 was pretty sweet and seeing Maradona withering away in the coaching zone. Sorry, can't stand the guy and got a fair bit of schadenfreude out of that. But winning so splendidly was even sweeter than watching that little Napoleon suffer.

The two together? Utter bliss. :)

Due to my sporting affiliations, moments of joy are few and far between.

The Blades play off victory over Nottingham Forest takes some beating (even if we didn't turn up for the final) - Pesch is a legend.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YrTe4b7Dces

Otherwise, Johnny Wilkinson dropping the goal that won the WRC was pretty special.

And those rare moments when the England football team show what they can do (4-1 v Holland in Euro 96, 5-1 v Germany, Owen's goal vs Argentina at WC 98)

Well, mapleleaf, I won't go into how sad it is a 48-year old man with three kids feels the need to go on the internet and quickly give a middle finger to some guy on a website...

Since you live in Toronot and the name permits, I'll just point out how sad the Maple Leafs are and leave it at that.

The Play.

Also our last second victory last year at big 12 champnshps.

Also my homecoming game junior year.

Also the time I caught a frisbee across the entire field in the end zone to win 11-10m

Also every one of Dikembe Mutumbo's blocks.

Also the south korean women's handballl team against sweden in 08.

Earliest memory - correctly predicting broncos over packers in that one superbowl about 10 yrs ago. Felt good
I was on the field at the time when we won. It was fucking epic.

I'm from Michigan, cursed by the Lions.

My favorite moment goes back to November 15, 1981. The 4-6 Lions hosting the 8-2 Cowboys. Somehow, the Lions stay in the game. With a few minutes left, they tie, get the ball back, and go charging down the field. With 20 seconds to go and no time outs, they run Eddie Murray, the placekicker, onto the field for a 47 yard field goal (that's a long kick in American football). The Cowboys charge the line, but the kick is up--and good! With no time left, it's a huge upset. Cheering and shouting, wild celebration.

Then the TV announcer says--"hey look at this..." A shot of the screen reveals that the Lions had 15 men on the field when the ball was snapped, but none of the referees noticed. So no penalty was called...Lions win.

Here's the boise st/oklahoma stunner of an upset in the 07 fiesta bowl... it's the 3 trick plays that won it:

That hook and lateral was on a 4th and 18... EIGHTEEN! And they got a TD on it!

Poor English. 44 years of hurt...

Not that I think that's gonna change anytime soon given the way their domestic league is set up.

In fact, someone correct me on this, but Barry Sanders is the only guy that can physically hurt you without touching you.

Just ask Rod Woodson. :D

@ Draugnar: Poker is not a sport.

Christian Laettner catching a 3/4 court inbounds pass from Grant Hill and hitting a turn-around, fall-away jumper to beat UK at the buzzer.

Is shuffleboard a sport?
Octavious (2701 D)
15 Dec 10 UTC
I think to be a sport it must contain significant amounts of physical activity and mental exertion, with the greatest sports having plenty of both. I would say shuffleboard was a sport, just not a very good one. Hungry Hungry Hippos on the other hand would be a sport of the highest order

lol...I suppose you are right Draug. Norris > Sanders. :(
The whole 2007 season for LSU football.

*Crush eventual ACC champion and #3 Virginia Tech 48-7
*Rally from 24-14 4th quarter deficit to beat defending national champion Florida
*Lost to Kentucky in triple OT
*Rally from 17-7 halftime deficit to beat Auburn on a (literal) last-second touchdown pass
*Rally from 27-17 fourth quarter deficit to beat Alabama in Saban's first year there
*Lost to Arkansas in triple OT
*Beat Tennessee 21-14 in SEC Championship game, then sat back and watched the complete madness that ensued which catapulted LSU from #7 to #2 and into the national championship game
*Beat Ohio State 38-24 to win the school's second national championship in five years and fourth all-time

@ Eden: As a Vol, I didn't enjoy that second to last one so much.

I'll add Buster Douglas knocking out Mike Tyson to the mix. Douglas was such an underdog that only one sports book in Vegas was taking bets on the fight.

@trip - poker tournaments are as much physical as mental. Try doing hour after hour, day after day of the grind. Playing in the World Series will take it out of you. Even the smaller but still lengthy WPT Tour events result in physical exhaustion. I know cause I've cashed in two of them at Hollywood Casino, Lawrenceburg, IN.

IQ - averade (her brother is brilliant however)
Slutty - well she is a "Jewish American Princess" (or her mom wants her to be) rebelling against her parents. So a heavy drinker who parties every chance she gets so, yeah, slutty. Love her dearly, but she isn't exactly living up to the apple of daddy's eye.

Best Kids movie
Doesn't have to be a cartoon, or CGI. Movie that you saw when you were a kid, movie that stands up well today, movie you use to hunt predators, anything goes.

To start things off with nostalgia, for me its definitely The Wizard of Oz, the Judy Garland version (in case there is another). Your thoughts?

Problem with paused game
We have a paused game with a player who has not entered orders, nor voted un pause, nor appeared in the press, and has not being seeing in almost 5 days. The game was a 1 day/turn day, and the rest of us have already voted un pause. What can we do to resume the game? Is there any other way to unpause the game?

I am in the process of planning the 2011 Masters' tournament. The scoring system will be altered to give 4 D for a win, and one point for a draw.

I am considering awarding no points for draws with 5, 6 or 7 players. What are people's opinions on the idea?
