Or do you think this is a non-issue? That gender does not matter when you meet someone in person? you don't have (unconscious?) expectations about how smart or capable they are, based on gender?

But Diplomacy is my favorite game. Ever. Actually, I think I only have my netbook so I can update my orders in class.

Personally, I also find women to be more manipulative and backstabbing IRL.

Which is why I have denounced lesbianism.

yes 473 there is quite a lot of manipulation and backstabbing going on in our game, quite a lot.

@ Crazyter- I treat women differently from men because they are different. I learned a long time ago never underestimate a woman. They are conniving and have far better manipulative skills than men. They use their looks, tits, ass, and other things to pull the rug right out from under you. This having been said I am happy with most of the women that are a part of my life. I had the chance to choose most of them. I choose how involved they are and if I don't want them around ignoring them will usually make them go away. When that doesn't work I am just mean and try to hurt their feelings. That makes me an ass and they leave me alone. That goes for men too. So I don't see the difference there. I have played poker for years and that is where I really learned that women deserve a special kind of respect. Most good poker players are very intelligent as are good Diplomacy players. The difference online is it doesn't matter what kind of physical charm you have because it doesn't have a chance to come into play. If you let me know you are a woman it doesn't change my attitude. I play to win no matter what the game and have had a lot of women drawn to me because I don't give any leeway to them.

I think too many men forget what the goal is (to win) when playing a beautiful woman. Focus on what you are doing and let them know they can not take you out of your game. For some reason that seems to appeal to women???

You aren't by chance anywhere in the south eastern US are you?
I am looking for groups for ftf time. I have found a local gaming club but not many Diplomacy players there.

Depends on your priorities. If you are playing diplomacy as a way to meet women, do what Onar does. If you are playing diplomacy to win diplomacy, do what tailboarder does.

Unfortunately, I am in the Midwest. I plan on attending GenCon next year to play live diplomacy there, and play a consistent live game with my friends on a daily basis.

Crazyter I have to say when a nice set of breasts appear guys become stupid for some reason. They get nervous trying to impress them. Instead of just being yourself they try too hard and often times make idiots of themselves. They forget they are dealing with another person.... Men are DUMB...

lol. but, being honest here, i would pull punches IRL, mostly because any girl i've ever played with either doesn't like diplomacy and is humoring me, or isn't as good as me. but i know for a fact i'll rue the day when i run across someone as good as the women on this site, especially if they play dumb right up until the moment of my demise. i shudder to think....

You mentioned thinking with your dick. I try really hard not to do that but it's always there if I'm playing any kind of game with a girl. Online though I don't think about it all... I mean... it's online.. so.. lol

I respect when someone defeats me well.
Not sore winners though, they bother me.

Beauty is a thing to cherish, so is intelligence. Women don't spend the amount of time and energy looking the way they do just to be ignored. If you see an attractive woman take time to compliment her. She deserves it. If you spent that much time and energy on anything you would want someone to notice. When she catches you looking at her keep looking and smile or wave. Tell her you were admiring her and meant nothing by it. If you pretend not to notice it is actually quite rude in my opinion.
