The nearest PokeStop is a church. The nearest gym is a church.

Same Tr how did they choose who gets specific pokestops?

Landmarks. The PokeStop church by my house is really big and a lot of people attend, and the Gym is an older more historic church. Statues and stuff are also supposed to be PokeStops, but living in a suburb or rural area will have less landmarks.

But one "landmark" in my neighborhood is the mcdonalds giant M how do they determine what is a landmark and what isn't (I live in Cypress a Suburb of Houston)

It is amazing how quickly this caught on. I'm in NH for a wedding and 3 of my younger cousins (10-18) are going crazy about it. We just left the hotel and wandered around finding both pokemon and other trainers wandering the streets. I saw several people that would normal be at their computers but were instead outside (albeit still staring at their phones). In that regard, I think this is awesome; although, I did have to remind my cousins several times that they couldn't stop in the middle of a road to catch a pokemon.

So can they still catch the pkmn if they cross the road first?

Also does everyone find the same pkmn if they're at the same place.

People need to realize to just have their phone vibrate so they can just walk around with their phone in their hand and also watch where they go, and wait for their phone to vibrate and indicate nearby Pokemon.

How close do you need to get to a Pokemon though? Is there like a 10 meter range? More, less?

10 meters is probably pretty accurate. What do I do if all the gyms around me already have super strong Pokemon in them? I don't stand a chance.

Level 6. Tons of Pokeballs. Go Team Instinct. And I have an Abra.
