diplomacy dislodge question.
Yeah quick question.
Lets say you have countries A and B.
If they each have one piece attempting to move into an empty territory but during that turn, Country A gets dislodged, does the standoff still occur or does B move into its desired territory? Thanks in advance.

What's the name of a picture/movie that changes and transitions smoothly in a loop?
So what I mean is that you don't really notice it's a loop unless you're paying close attention because the end of the loop fits perfectly on the start of the loop. There's no strong feeling of repetition. Just a 'background' continuously moving.
Just looking for the word for such a thing. I saw one quite a while ago and thought I could use one of those in a design, but now I finally have the time to do something with it, I forgot what it's called :-(
Help me webdip!

Is it normal for people to sign up for very slow games (10 days/phase) and stay quiet?
I am relatively new to webDip. From the little experience I have here, I get the impression that it is not uncommon for very slow games to be pretty quiet. I've had no replies at all from some parties, even though they are giving orders. Is this usual? I thought very slow games would have lots and lots of diplomatic talk.

What I don't quite get is in a nation of immigrants why do black people get such a raw deal?
Are Black Americans in general really more unlawful people than everyone else?

I guess discrimination is alright in your country, after all you did own the immigrants country first. Honestly Nigee shut the fuck up, you are a piece of shit.

@ Ogion

"A prosecutor has to work hard not to get an indictment in a murder with six eyewitnesses."

A *fatal shooting* with six *unreliable* eyewitnesses who changed their stories in light of the autopsy results.

"A struggle for a gun at a distance of 148 feet."

A struggle for a police officer's service pistol at arm's length through the window of a vehicle. The only person who took non-lethal options off of the table in this situation was Michael Brown, when he attempted to disarm Officer Wilson. Broad accusations of police brutality and militarization are not unfounded, on that we agree. But this case was not a good example of police brutality.

Officer Wilson, acting as an officer of the law, attempted to stop Michael Brown and his companion after realizing that the two matched the description for a pair of robbery suspects. During a struggle, Brown *attempted to disarm* Officer Wilson. Officer Wilson, after slightly wounding Brown and exiting his vehicle, proceeded to shoot Brown multiple times in his torso.

In the United States, you will get shot if you attempt to disarm a police officer. Why? Because your weapon is your life. Brown is the one who escalated the situation by going for Officer Wilson's gun, not Officer Wilson. Brown had what was coming to him if you ask me. Hell, Officer Wilson could have shot him five minutes later after a foot pursuit and it would still be a justifiable homicide if you ask me. Don't touch an officer's weapon and you will not get shot.
If you want an answer to the question, and you aren't just being a fucking turd as usual, say so.

Santa I don't think this abuse really gives us any answers but if it makes you feel like a man then it has served its purpose, what do all of your black friends think about this issue Santa?
"Are Black Americans in general really more unlawful people than everyone else?"
It's kind of hard to get a view of the data that can be generally accepted by all sides, I think. The arrest and incarceration numbers are of course quite high. But it's kind of hard to make an acceptable interpretation of them.

If you say the numbers are good and that blacks actually DO commit considerably more crimes than one would expect given their proportion of the population, you're a racist and brainwashed by the established authorities and possibly even authoritarian and/or fascist yourself.

If you say the numbers are iffy and that they're inflated by a law enforcement community that (wittingly or not) profiles people racially and goes after their self-defined usual suspects, you're be a libtard, criminal-lover, softie and possibly revolutionary and/or anarchic hack who can't appreciate a good system when you see it.
^Or, I suppose I could have just said: not sure.
My black friends that I have discussed this with want to see the officer convicted.

statistically for jail population it is 39.4 % black 34.2 % white and 20.6 % hispanic
194,552,774 white
33,947,837 black
35,305,818 hispanic
is the population in the USA
so statistically whites are the least unlawful, the hispanic community is second and blacks are the worst. This can't be determined on an individual basis but generally yes, they are

Justice has to be seen to be done, if Brown had survived he would be up for assaulting a police officer, he gets murdered and the cop who killed him is innocent.
Whatever way I look at this it still looks like excessive force, like the cop lost his nerve, panicked and gunned this guy down ... does that make him innocent just because he is a copper?
^I'm not with him

Those statistics are incredibly disingenuous, because we know Blacks get stronger sentences than Whites for the same crimes.

@ Santa

Why do your black friends want to see the officer convicted? And on what charge?
not to mention economic disparities and an unequal enforcement of laws and access to legal recourse.
JamesYanik (548 D)

the cop was assaulted then in the threat of being assaulted again discharged his weapon. I would make sure the officer would take a psych profile and that he wouldnt be on the streets for a while
Gunfighter06 (224 D)
25 Nov 14 UTC
To further abge's point, the prison system in the US is so fucked up that using it as the basis for any sort of statistic is outright disingenuous.
JamesYanik (548 D)
25 Nov 14 UTC
@santaclausowitz - it still contributes to race statistics
Gunfighter06 (224 D)
25 Nov 14 UTC
@ JamesYanik

There's a big difference between being assaulted and having someone attempt to disarm you. Brown attempted to disarm Officer Wilson, so when Brown advanced towards Officer Wilson after Officer Wilson dismounted his vehicle, Officer Wilson reasonably concluded that Brown had homicidal intent.
They believe that the officer used excessive force and should be tried on murder charges.
NigeeBaby (100 D(G))

Is it something about skin colour that makes white people more fearful of Black people than say, Hispanics, are Black people more threatening because they are physically bigger?
The slave trade was a long time ago now, are blacks still getting a raw deal in the eyes of the law? There are so many stats that suggest that Blacks get treated differently, I'm just trying to understand why this is....
Gunfighter06 (224 D)
25 Nov 14 UTC
But I do not see why every white-on-black incident has to be race-related. If Officer Wilson was acting out of racism, then wouldn't we have seen a trend of racism in his file? Officer Wilson had no disciplinary history at all.

Control active game play time option ?
Hello,

What if it was possible to control the time allowed for game play, such as, "game only active between the hours of X & Y". Then shorter phase games could be played more easily and not at strange hours of the night. Thoughts?

NFL Pick 'em Week 12: Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow...eh, Buffalo? ;)
So, with Buffalo's game postponed until Monday (and moved to Detroit as, um, Buffalo's sort of buried under snow) and the Raiders having won their first game of the season--and in more than a year!--vs. the rival Chiefs, we enter Week 12. The Lions and Patriots meet in a big clash. Rams//Chargers is an intriguing match-up. Cardinals/Seahawks up in Seattle, and Ravens/Saints on a suddenly-crucial Monday Nighter. Week 12... pick 'em!
