New Variant Trials Finished
Even though it wasn't a actual tournament or anything and the games were originally 'wait for ready up' and that stopped halfway through leading to a lot of cds... i figured as they've all come to an end i would post the "results" anyway

"Shut Down" Bullshit by Obama
If we don't Federal Workers to man the WWII memorial...how come we have enough to pay the guards to put up barricades and stand guard to prevents WWII vets from visiting? How come Obama still seems to have staff at his *golf course*?

Seems Barrack Dickhead Obama has a very selective vision of what "shut down" means...

SSE increase their energy prices by 8.2% for winter, despite reporting £1.2 billion profit in the summer. I've had enough, who's going to join me?

DEBT CEILING NEGOTIATIONS
If nobody has ever negotiated on the Debt Ceiling, as Obama and the intellectually vacant around here say, …then how did we get Sequestration after the Debt Ceiling negotiations in 2011. Sequestration was *Obama’s* plan, by the way.

How very little intellectual integrity exists within you morally perverted Democrats…

Rank Questions
So how long does a player remain a Political Puppet and then move on to Member, Experienced, etc?

Is it a matter of how long you've played or how many times you've won or drawn? Or is it just based on time spent on the site? Just curious. Thanks for your help....

Any interest in a 3 to 4 day phase game? I'd definitely want WTA, but buy-in, anonymity, and map (classic or modern) are up for debate. Drop a line and your preferences if interested. Thanks.

was lincoln great for our elite?
bill still seems to think the elite wanted to divide america so lincoln was a problem for them. but i am not so sure. lets say he did not declare war on the south and let the south kick out the norths military from their territory, would that have really benefited them much?

College Life
So a couple months ago I asked the WebDip community for advice for college. Many of you said that joining a frat would be a good idea, and at the very least I should check it out.
Well, on October 7th I am pledging to Theta Chi; are there any soon-to-be fellow frat mates on WebDip? What other fraternities are people a part of?

Fog of war variant
Correct me if there is already one, but wouldn't it be cool to have a variant with 'fog of war'? You would only be able to see enemy units in territories neighbouring your own territory/armies. The uncertainty would make things very interesting.. perhaps with additional distance limitations on conversation as well

GUNBOAT TOURNAMENT
As has been mentioned, I am hoping to run a gunboat tournament. I intend it to be basic but also comprehensive. I will detail some "things" below. I would like to get a read on who would be interested in playing.

Of course it's not a problem, talking about it in an EOG would be the problem.
Nobody talked about it in an EOG. Except Lando few minutes ago. And he was the one who wanted us all not to talk about it.
Draugnar (0 DX)
19 Mar 13 UTC
Arguably, that was *not* an EOG. It was a simple throw away comment and Lando has said all along not to post extensive EOGs, keep them limited, which is exactly what he did, Split.
Draugnar (0 DX)
19 Mar 13 UTC
"I don't see where is the problem if someone decides to draw in a game he should have won and that has something to do with a position in one of his other games "

What if I said I was depsearte to get a draw, any draw, becaus eI had been eliminate in so many games already (there are still three ongoing in my gorup after all) so I refused to eliminate a player or some such. It *can* influence the other games if you suspect the big guy in it is a particular player or that a particular player has already been eliminated.

I would say the best bet is to only talk about hings within the game, not motivations that may be a result of other games in the series, but that we shoudl still listen to Lando as it is *his* tournament.
EOG or non EOG,or a "simple throw away comment",what is the difference? If you shouldn't talk about it you shouldn't talk about it.
Draugnar (0 DX)
19 Mar 13 UTC
The difference is, he didn't say not to talk at all. He said go easy on it. I understand only one neuron fires in that brain of yours, but when more fire, they understand that there is a place between no disclosure and full disclosure.
It is not "my" tournament, this is our tournament. My goal is keeping it fair, that is all. Sorry for my part in creating this mess.

The "use common sense" rule from the site should apply and overrule in all instances.
Draugnar (0 DX)

By your tournament, I meant you set up the brackets and have to deal with all of our bullshit. It's a thankless job and I thank you for doing it, Lando.
Well that's contradiction if I've ever seen one :-P

But thanks Draugnar, I appreciate that.
jmo1121109 (3812 D)
19 Mar 13 UTC
Well, you are the TD Lando, so people need to follow your request to hold off on EOG's or anything that will potentially influence another tournament game. Obviously like you said, common sense should be used to figure out if a comment could affect another game or if it violates any other site rules.
I recognize that I took on responsibility by setting this up, I was simply trying to express that the decisions I make and the positions I take in regards to this tournament are not intended to be selfish, but rather, in the interests of the tournament.

I think we are through the "tough stuff" here now, though.

We're definitely yelling for no reason now. It sounds like we're all on the same page about brief EOG statements mid-round being ok so long as they don't reference any of the games still ongoing.

I agree with Split - nothing nefarious with acting to win the tournament according the the tourney rules, even if that is counter to a single game... Why do badminton players get a bad rap? But it seems the point in not to talk about ongoing games, which seems simple enough... Seeing as our group has managed to finish just one, that's pretty easy to manage!
josunice (3702 D(S))
19 Mar 13 UTC
Wow - whole page with not a one reference to a game... if a country is defeated in a forest and there was no forum, would anyone hear the EoG squealling?
Draugnar (0 DX)
19 Mar 13 UTC
@Gen. Lee - Land oand I have had our differences. I just happen to think he is doing a great job. This is really a tough job to please everyone and you and other of your ilk make it that much tougher. So fuck off, asswipe fucktard. Go back to fucking your little brother.

Gen. Lee (7588 D(B))

"@Gen. Lee - Land oand I have had our differences. I just happen to think he is doing a great job."

99.99% of us think he's doing a great job and are enjoying this tourney. You're the only one trying to start a fire the old fashioned way in his lap. In the words of Lando...go easy on waxing his balls in this thread please. lol ;)
Draugnar (0 DX)
19 Mar 13 UTC
99.99%? There are only 49 people in this tournie. If just one has an issue with him, then that is almost 2% at odds with him. We have seen a couple of folks here, so most likely 95% satisfaction. But the problem is, that other 5% is very vocal, so I am being vocal the other way. Can't let the bastards win and all it takes is for the good folk to keep silent and the bastards *will* win. So be vocal and show him some fucking appreciation, asshole.
Draugnar (0 DX)
19 Mar 13 UTC
Sorry, there are only 28 people. so if one has an issue, that is almost 4%. If three have an issue, than more than 10% are at odds with him.

IPCC finally admits that it was lying to us all
You've gotta love this:

My stance on global warming for the last year has remained the same: The IPCC were exaggerating their claims, and that while global warming is happening, its not happening as quickly as climate scientists think.
