Case on Dargorygel:
I know night might not be the best time to post cases, but I do what I can when I have time. (I may not be on before EON, and I want to post this on the slim chance they decide to off me.) So I decided to go back and look at dargorygel who seems to be flying more under the radar than practically anybody else.
D1 – Voted for Moscow, Maniac(meant to vote Moscow), Moscow again, Kak, and then finished on Ezio.
His reason for voting for Ezio was:
“@bo... I read your case. The part that resonated most was the fact that Ezio is voting for HR because of HR's lurking... but Ezio is lurking almost as much. That makes his vote feel like scum voting for someone just to vote, without having thought through the case. Ezio is usually a better player than that... his votes (even when i disagree with him) at least make some sense. Voting for someone for a reason that Ezio is ALSO doing rings untrue... @@VOTE EZIO”
1) Latched onto bo’s case without doing any hunting himself. I’ll give him somewhat of a pass just because its day one, but this is the beginning of a trend.
D2 – Voted for Ezio then switched and ended on Kak.
He started by voting Ezio because that is who he voted for on D1. He then switches to Kak because “I talked about reading kaka scum yesterday. I still am thinking he is. I'll leave Ezio for another day”. The first time darg mentions Kak is when he first votes him on d1 on page 17: “Kakarroto seems off. He starts on the first few pages doing some role play things.. and then changes into his ‘serious hat.’ He usually seems more lighthearted, even while hunting. Is he nervous? He played well as scum last game. Most unusual is that he already has voted. He is leading a train, in fact. This is not usual kakarroto action.”
1) It seems odd that your basis for a d2 vote would be on someone seeming “off” in the first half of d1. Seems like someone finding a reason to jump on a wagon that he knows is town.
2) Also bad that he ends on Kak after he claims. This is the first, but not the last time he ends on a meaningless wagon.
D3 – Votes Maniac, then Tom B.
First he talks again about how he has been scumreading Ezio all game, but again doesn’t push it any farther than saying Ezio seems scummy. He has a chat with brain and then votes Maniac out of nowhere saying “I was about to vote for Maniac when you started the conversation. Now I CAN'T vote for Maniac because Kaka will say I am following you.”
Then he and brainbomb talk more (with DL8 involved as well) and the conversation about me calling GA a slut comes up. Brainbomb talks some more about how he thinks I could be scum because I talk like I have more info than town would have. Darg adds a couple of posts here as well. His rationale for voting me is “In airports today... hope to have interwebs. I didn't like Tombadil's conversation with Bomb yesterday. And I didn't like the way he then switched suddenly to going along with the dead Brain... seemed very scummy looking for cred. In case I am not on EoD..
@@VOTE TOM BOMBADIL”
1) He follows brain without really coming up with a thought of his own other than that I followed brain too quickly after he died.
2) The oddest part is if he thought my conversation was scummy, WHY HASN'T HE PUSHED ME SINCE AT ALL? He hasn’t mentioned it once since, nor has he asked me anything. If he was actually town, wouldn’t he at least try to get information from me? My bet is, however, that if someone else pushed me he would be quick to latch on, and then bring up this reasoning. Another situation where he latched on to someone else’s hunting and tried to pass it off as his own.
3) He again ended on a meaningless wagon.
N3 – This really sticks out at me: “I'd vote for Maniac or Moscow tomorrow.”
1) First of all, Moscow was dead. And Maniac has since been confirmed town. Moscow was lynched the day before in a town v. town EOD. Darg seems more happy to post who he wants gone before he even looks at who was lynched.
D4 – Voted teacon, then switched to Flum following HR’s case. I literally did the same thing, but some observations.
1) His timing on the vote of teacon is odd as it as right as Ezio is getting questioned by myself and xorxes (and mentioned as a shot candidate by Ike). Its odd because darg had said that he had been reading Ezio as scum all game. Why did he not add to the questioning of Ezio when Ezio was under some pressure and instead vote teacon because “this is his scum meta.”
2) He switches to Flum because of HR’s case. I did the same thing in sheeping HR, but darg showed a pattern of this.
D5 – Votes Ezio and then xorxes.
1) He votes Ezio for his previous scumreads and “bussing Maniac again”. What is odd is that he didn’t comment further after Maniac flipped town. Wouldn’t you expect him to say something?
2) Votes xorxes (careful because it does not show this in the tool because he put a space between ## and vote) with 17 minutes left only when it began looking like a lost cause for xorxes.
I think there are links between xorxes, Darg, and Ezio.
1) Darg never even mentions xorx once the whole game – unless I missed it. Only votes him once it begins to look certain that he is the lynch.
2) Darg only voted Ezio early except for D1 when he knew corrupter could put an extra vote on Vash. (xorxes was already on Vash when Darg voted Ezio).
3) I still think the exchange between Ezio and xorxes was odd on page. 129 where xorxes quickly pointed out that Ezio listed him twice in his reads as a way to potentially stop the bleeding before Ezio dug a bigger hole. At this time darg also put his vote in for teacon as a way to attempt to steer the conversation elsewhere.
4) Darg piggybacks off of others cases, ends on meaningless wagons, and scumread Ezio throughout the whole game without actively pushing it. I was looking for a link between xorx and darg, but I think the link is stronger between Ezio and darg.
Darg may very well just be a preoccupied townie, but there are definitely signs to me that make him scum. I don’t know if this is how he usually plays, but I wanted to dig some since he has literally had no pressure on him the entire game. I fear some that I am unconsciously fitting evidence to a bias that he may be scum, but in my re-read he certainly hasn’t done anything particularly townie.
