@krellin:
1. What was ghug like in other games as Town
ghug is usually really wrong early on and his reads substantially evolve as the game goes on. He flings lots of accusations and builds lots of cases. He rarely OMGUSes. He becomes more an more dangerous for scum in late phases. For these reasons he usually becomes a NK target. If I were mafia annd ghug were town he would be dead by now for sure. I would have never ever killed OB before ghug.
1a. Did his play evolve over time as town in past games (from game to game)
No, ghug as town always plays very similarly. Some games he is more wrong than in others. But his MO is the same. The one thing you can always expect from ghug is to consider optimal town play, and even when we disagree on what optimal town play is, townie ghug always goes for what he believes optimal town play is.
1b) why is this ghug not town ghug? For starter, the y2k lynch. ghug cannot possibly believe under any circumstances that a D2 lynch of a claimed PR who had not been counterclaimed is optimal town play. That should be enough. If it's not just check all the OMGUSing, the lack of casebuilding and the general mafia affiliation of his actions.
2. What was ghug like in other games as Scum
ghug is a mastermind as scum. He makes everyone believe he is town . No one suspects him and when someone does no one wants to lynch him. He usually wins as scum unless he is vig-killed (I can say I caught him once as scum when I was lucky enough to be vig). It is extremely frustrating because even when scum ghug does the scummiest possible action in the game (purposefully forcing a tie in the last minute of a phase) he can weasel his way out of being lynched. This makes scum ghug very bold and cocky.
2a. Did his play evolve over time as scum in other games (from game to game)
I would think so yes, it became more and more similar to his townie game. In the first game I caught him as scum he was pretty damn obviously playing different from town ghug. In succeeding games it has become harder to separate one from the other and I was very wrong in one of the last games I was convinced he was scum (I was town too). Yet, that was the worstgame ghug has ever played as town, so there was some justification there.
2b. What this means: if ghug is town he just surpassed his own worst game as town ever because this performance has been completely mafia aligned. Leading the lynch of y2k is the scummiest thing anyone has ever done in this game. Leading the lynch of Jamie was super scummy too (and everyone saying Jamie played a poor game are idiots, his end of phase antics clearly showed he was just a frustrated vanilla townie (town ghug would had noticed)).
2c. why is this ghug, scum ghug? Every single major action he has taken all game along has been better for scum than for town. Need I say more? ghug clearly is cocky enough to be blatant because he knows he can talk his way out of being lynched. Ergo he has been blatant and he still lives.
3. If ghug's play in this game directly parallel to previous behavior, if so, which?
Directly parallel to scum ghug. Scum ghug OMGUSes, leads the lynch of obviously innocent townies and coaches his teammates. All of that has happened in this game. Every single action ghug takes is a scum-favorable action.
3a. If ghug's play is unique in this game, how is it unique, and what can you draw form that?
It is not unique. He has been playing exactly like he did when he was scum who tied the vote and kept misleading town.
