Ugh, I just realised that this is really, really bad. Yoyo was supposed to die to that shot as well. I guess Claesar must have actually been a Mason.
Much of what Flum and I did this game doesn't make sense on first glance, but it does when you know it was done with the intention of stopping me being converted to Cult. What happened last phase was supposed to cause the Cultists to convert Yoyo instead of me, then we could shoot Jamiet to take them all out - if the Cultists believed Yoyo to be the Fabricator, then they would try to Cult him to stop the shot. If we'd have just tied up the vote last phase, then there's a possibility that Cult would have converted me as we shot Jamiet, leading to a loss for me.
Yoyo is the Tracker. He's possibly a Mason now, I have no idea, but if you're both Masons then I'm dead anyway so I might as well tell you about this either way. OB scanned Vecna N1 and found that out. We decided to leave him alive so that he could potentially give out the identities of the Cult, or in case he found the Masons and tried to signal them. He never did (or if he did find either, he didn't make it very clear - he was being incredibly quiet for the vast majority of the game). The only time he really interacted with the game was when he was frantically trying to discredit Balki's tracker claim, most likely because he knew Balki was lying about being Tracker and thought Balki was trying to direct the Vig shot against a townie.
Going into D4, Flum and I were extremely uncertain on who the Cult Leader was, so we made a plan. The idea was that he'd try to get me lynched, and I'd claim tracker on the stand and point to a couple of people who could be Cult Leader so we could gauge the reaction. Flum could confirm my Tracker claim by my claim to have followed OB and seen where he went on N2. We were looking for a reaction from a Cultist or Mason asking for an alliance against Mafia. We were also looking for a reaction from any Masons who might have tried to Mason me, since they would know 100% my claim was false and might try to out to inform Cult to convert me. I guessed that Claesar might be a Mason because he instantly went for me with no reasoning, which suggests he was Xorxes' partner and knew I was the mismason target, but I wasn't certain of this.
If we didn't get such a reaction, then we could go back to lynching me - that way I would be permanently on the Mafia side and have no chance of being converted.
We weren't expecting Vecna to be subbed out - we were hoping that he might remain silent for most of the phase (as usual) and we'd get a reaction before he came on. However, he got subbed out for Yoyo. This wasn't planned in advance, but when Yoyo came in it felt very much like he was lost and wasn't sure what to do, so I decided to try to pin him as the Fabricator to make absolutely certain Cult wouldn't convert me. Surprisingly, he actually played along and claimed it. I think Flum realised what I was doing, since he started excessively talking about how Yoyo shouldn't have claimed and verifying that Yoyo was the Fab.
We did get a reaction, but it wasn't the one I was hoping for. Ghug outed and asked for an alliance, but he made it clear that two players could potentially be Cult Leader - himself, or Jamiet - and I had no idea which it was. As such, I had to keep up the charade of being Tracker, because if I suddenly turned on them and we lynched the non-Cult Leader then the other would know I was Fabricator, and would convert me during the night as a revenge act, and I would lose.
This was problematic, since I knew Yoyo would probably be willing to vote for Flum. When we'd planned this out we hadn't planned for there to actually be enough Cult and Masons to lynch Fluminator, but everyone being offline, combined with the fact that I was having to vote for him to hide my role, meant that he was certain to be lynched if Yoyo switched. As such, I changed my gameplan and worked at the end of the phase with the intention of getting Fluminator lynched and getting the Cult to convert me during the night.
I know this was playing against Rule #7, but at the time it seemed like the only option - if I didn't vote Flum I would be converted to cult and lose, and the only alternative was getting Flum lynched, and that meant that it would be pretty much impossible for me to win without getting converted to Cult. If I was going to be converted to Cult, Flum had to die, because I had to get rid of the extra nightkill potential.
Thankfully, Yoyo seemed really reluctant to make it appear as though he wasn't the Fabricator. I think this is because he believed the Masons to be dead, and wanted to get converted to Cult - and he knew that he'd only be converted to Cult if he claimed Fab. He even asked in the phase to be converted to Cult, and that was a condition for him voting for Flum.
Thankfully, Yoyo left it so late that Ghug screwed up and missed the voting window. This took me by surprise, because at that point I was playing with the mindset of winning by being converted to Cult. The vote drew, and nobody ended up being lynched, meaning we still had a chance.
Fluminator was extremely angry at me in the Mafia QT and said that if I really wanted to be Cult, he'd try and force me to be Cult. He kept saying in the game thread that he was killing Yoyo, and he did this to try to divert the conversion my way - everyone thought that Claesar was probably a Mason and Guak was probably a Traitor, so if Yoyo was dying then the only winning play for Cult was to convert someone who wasn't going to be targeted by Masons (so not Guak) and wasn't a Mason themselves (Claesar) so they'd be able to convert the next night. Flum set the kill on Ghug (I tried to vote Claesar but he got the first vote in, so he got the tiebreaker), who we thought was Cult Leader, with the intention of killing the Cult and me together. I tried to convince the Cult that Yoyo couldn't be killed so he was the safe conversion in the thread, but it didn't seem to be having much of an impact.
Two things happened contrary to my expectations - Ghug turned out to be a normal Cultist, and I wasn't converted. That meant that the conversion had to be one of Claesar or Yoyo, since Guak was the obvious Mason target so would have died if they'd targeted him. Fluminator was still angry at me for the previous phase and immediately tried to get me lynched.
Fluminator also claimed that Yoyo was converted, most likely to gauge the reaction of the Cult. Given that I believed Yoyo was the most likely target, I backed him up to try to support my Tracker claim. Jamiet instantly voted me, so I knew I'd been wrong - so I said that he'd visited Claesar instead. That seemed to work and Jamiet moved to voting Fluminator.
Fluminator wasn't moving off me. I tried to send messages to him disguised as messages to Jamiet, telling him to remove his end vote and that we would lose this way, but he only removed his end vote, not his vote on me. At that stage, I knew that the options were either me getting lynched, or tying up the vote, since Yoyo would almost certainly vote against Fluminator when he realised that keeping up the charade would lead to him losing for certain. The former might lead to a mafia loss if Yoyo was now a Mason (a possibility, and then he would convert Guak and lynch Flum the next day). The latter would lead to my certain loss, since Cult would probably convert me during the night and Flum would shoot Jamiet.
The safest option I had was to try to get Fluminator lynched. I realised that doing this would make Cult think I was 100% not the Fabricator, which meant that I could take out Jamiet, Claesar, and whoever Jamiet converted the following night, leading to an instant Mafia win. I knew that it was slightly risky, but I used the y2k style shenanigans to try to end the phase early - I knew that if I didn't get my second vote in on time then Fluminator would lynch me, and then it would be up to him, but then a loss would be entirely his fault since that was his plan going into the phase. I got the vote in though, which as far as I could see ensured a Mafia victory. I forgot that if Claesar had been a Mason, the Cult could not convert tonight, so shooting Jamiet would leave the three of us and I wouldn't autowin.
So... Here's where the problem comes in. The way I see it there are a few different scenarios right now:
1) You're both Masons. In this case I'm dead anyway, and GG.
2) Yoyo is still the Tracker and Guak is a Traitor. In this case, we can no lynch today, I can shoot Yoyo tonight, and we get a Mafia win together, or we can lynch Yoyo today.
3) Yoyo is a Mason and Guak is a Traitor. In this case, we can no lynch and I can shoot Yoyo tonight. However, Guak would then be converted to a Mason and I'd have to shoot him the next night. Technically the best play here for you, Guak, would be lynching me and letting Yoyo Mason you, but that would seriously violate rule #7 (play to your CURRENT win condition), and if he's still the Tracker then the game will end in a draw. We should lynch him today in this scenario.
4) Yoyo is a Tracker and Guak is a Mason. I'm not even going to explore this possibility since I think it is definitely false. I'll explain below.
What's the likelihood of each being the case?
1) I'm not going to look into how likely this is because if you are both Masons, then you guys will just lynch me immediately, making analysis pointless.
2) This is definitely possible and somewhat likely. If Yoyo hadn't been Masoned before N5 then the Masons never got a chance to convert him. It all depends on whether you think Vecna was a decent mason target.
3) This is also definitely possible. If Claesar and Yoyo were Masons together, then if Claesar was the one sent out on the conversion and he got Masoned then no other Masoning would have occurred (since Yoyo stayed at home). I can also see Yoyo staying at home and trying to get Cult to convert him if he was the last Mason, since he knew that my Tracker claim was false, but didn't know which of Guak/Me was the Fabricator, since I could have been lying as a Traitor to get the Tracker to claim, and mismasoning would lose him the game.
4) If Guak was a lone Mason then he 100% would have tried to Mason me last night and would have died. There's no way he would have gone for Yoyo when Yoyo was claiming Fabricator.
Alright, so, I've explained myself. I hope I haven't been too long winded. If you want to ask any other questions please feel free. I realise that my play has been misleading and the way Flum and I played might end up screwing our team over here, but I was expecting a different outcome to the night phase and in that outcome it would have instantly won us the game (and stopped me being converted to Cult).
We have a choice of lynching Yoyo now or leaving it until the night phase. I am okay with either - it really depends on whether you believe scenario 2 or 3 is the case, since if it's 3 you lose if we leave it to night phase, but if it's 2 then leaving it to night phase is the easiest way to verify my claim. I'll follow you, Guak.
And if you're a Mason, just get it over with now so I don't have to type any more.
