"Shut Down" Bullshit by Obama
If we don't Federal Workers to man the WWII memorial...how come we have enough to pay the guards to put up barricades and stand guard to prevents WWII vets from visiting? How come Obama still seems to have staff at his *golf course*?

Seems Barrack Dickhead Obama has a very selective vision of what "shut down" means...

DEBT CEILING NEGOTIATIONS
If nobody has ever negotiated on the Debt Ceiling, as Obama and the intellectually vacant around here say, …then how did we get Sequestration after the Debt Ceiling negotiations in 2011. Sequestration was *Obama’s* plan, by the way.

How very little intellectual integrity exists within you morally perverted Democrats…

So how long does a player remain a Political Puppet and then move on to Member, Experienced, etc?

Is it a matter of how long you've played or how many times you've won or drawn? Or is it just based on time spent on the site? Just curious. Thanks for your help....

was lincoln great for our elite?
bill still seems to think the elite wanted to divide america so lincoln was a problem for them. but i am not so sure. lets say he did not declare war on the south and let the south kick out the norths military from their territory, would that have really benefited them much?

College Life
So a couple months ago I asked the WebDip community for advice for college. Many of you said that joining a frat would be a good idea, and at the very least I should check it out.
Well, on October 7th I am pledging to Theta Chi; are there any soon-to-be fellow frat mates on WebDip? What other fraternities are people a part of?

Fog of war variant
Correct me if there is already one, but wouldn't it be cool to have a variant with 'fog of war'? You would only be able to see enemy units in territories neighbouring your own territory/armies. The uncertainty would make things very interesting.. perhaps with additional distance limitations on conversation as well

GUNBOAT TOURNAMENT
As has been mentioned, I am hoping to run a gunboat tournament. I intend it to be basic but also comprehensive. I will detail some "things" below. I would like to get a read on who would be interested in playing.

With all due respect, there was NEVER any rules put in place about EOGs or discussing a game once it ended. Games have ended and discussion has taken place. That Genie ain't going back in the bottle. At this point, it is unfair to the rest of us that we be asked to STFU.
Stressedlines (1559 D)
28 Feb 13 UTC
Not sure who that was directed at but I did not ask anyone to'stfu'
Draugnar (0 DX)
28 Feb 13 UTC
It isn't my place to say, but with the anonymous nature of the games, if it were my tournament I would have no problem with EOGs at the end of the games. While they are running, the usual and customary rules of gunboat would apply.

But this is Lando's baby so I will not comment on my games until they have all ended.
jimgov (219 D(B))
28 Feb 13 UTC
I was just using the STFU remark from a previous post. Just referencing the gag order.
y2kjbk (4846 D(G))
28 Feb 13 UTC
I don't care about what rules were agreed upon. I said people should STFU because Lando wants it and, yes, this is his baby (and I happen to agree with him on the points he makes). Feel free to look at finished games on your own and privately use the results to your advantage if you can, but the results shouldn't be advertised and thoroughly discussed in the middle of the round.
jcbryan97 (134 D)

Tenso.

My two cents: I stand by lando in large part due to my appreciation for him setting this up. I also can't believe it's such a big issue either way. I'd suggest writing up an EOG in ms word; it may be cathartic.
Stressedlines (1559 D)
28 Feb 13 UTC
so is is meta gaming to discuss a game that is overwith someone in a PM? I am not saying I have, I am just putting a 'what if' scenario out there for us.
y2kjbk (4846 D(G))
28 Feb 13 UTC
I personally don't have an issue with that, but that's Lando's call. I just take issue with general EOG's in the middle of a round, since it would be very easy for the EOG writer and the responders to consciously or unconsciously hint at their situation in the other games and have all tournament participants as an audience to their words, which is generally a bad thing for a GB tourney, right? I wouldn't PM anyone *in your bracket* about finished games if other games in the bracket are still ongoing.
Lando Calrissian (100 D(S))

Its a fine line. The only rule is discussing ongoing gbs is forbidden. I asked that people "go easy" on eogs because these games effect each other. I am asking people to avoid eogs as a preventative measure.

Jimgov it would be nice if uou could not take every opportunity available to complain about this basic gb rule.
Stressedlines (1559 D)
28 Feb 13 UTC
wELL, I will only say this. that someone IN my bracket did ask me about a game that is over, asking me why i didnt do such and such.

I explained it, and that was that. I dont think that is meta-gaming, so I am going to keep playing, and I may do a EOG or 2 afterwards.
Just dont refer to ongojng games and egeveryone is happy
jimgov (219 D(B))
28 Feb 13 UTC
@Lando - I am not taking every opportunity to complain about this "basic gb rule." When we started talking about this tourney, it was mentioned about someone doing commentary. I can't remember who brought it up first. I said that sounded great (or something like that). People chimed in that you can't talk about an ongoing gunboat game. Cool.

This is different. The basic rule is no talking about an ongoing gunboat game. Nothing was mentioned about EOGs once the game was over. People wrote EOGs. Now, you are saying that you can't do that. Well...it has already happened. I haven't written one, nor was I planning on it. My point is that, since this seems to be a "house rule" for this tourney, it could have been presented to everybody before they started writing ones. It seems crazy to me that someone thinks that their knowing what someone was thinking in an anonymous game that is over will somehow help them in another anonymous game in the future. I guess that they are much, much better at this game than I will ever be.

This is your tourney and I am happy to play by any rules you set forth. I'm sorry if I seem to be a complainer. I won't mention it again.

How does it work ..... we never communicate, organising matches is nigh on impossible !!
I can't stop people talking about games that have ended, I just am trying to make sure that people do not talk about ongoing GB games. @jim Sorry for singling you out, that was unfair.
jimgov (219 D(B))
01 Mar 13 UTC
@Lando - It's all good.
Why not write your EOG when he game ends while it's still fresh in your memory, including the whys and wherefores involving other games that were ongoing *at*the*time* and then post it to Lando? He can put it up on the forum when the round is over. Is that okay with you Lando?

I can't see a reason not to post league tables as games finish though. That would just be collating publicly available information. It would save us the trouble of looking at completed (and ongoing games) to work it out for our selves.

My EOGs will be published with my memoirs and autobiography, if a job's worth doing it's worth doing properly, none of these documents will ever be published as I wouldn't like anyone to take offence ..... unless of course you have bought and paid for the fence

IPCC finally admits that it was lying to us all

My stance on global warming for the last year has remained the same: The IPCC were exaggerating their claims, and that while global warming is happening, its not happening as quickly as climate scientists think.
